Welcome changes. Melbourne still has more gravel and grass than any other circuit on calendar too.

Montreal, the closest there is in direct profile comparison, has shameful amount

Piquet Jnr (Max's brother in law) about Bahrain tests

What a career path.

Son of 3x WDC Nelson Piquet -> F1 Podium Finisher -> NASCAR (xFinity & Truck) race winner -> First ever Formula E champion -> Max Verstappens brother-in-law.

I love it :p

Piquet Jnr (Max's brother in law) about Bahrain tests

- Mclaren is well ahead of everyone, maybe 0.5 ahead of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. In between those 3, nothing to choose
- He says this is a different scenario than 2024, because in 2025 people have to switch resources to 2026 very soon. So if Mclaren is 0.5 ahead in 2025, it is likely to stay like this for the whole year.
- Colapinto in the place of Doohan is a done deal after 5 races.
- He does not beleive Alpine and Williams can challenge the big 4 on the long run on the WCC
- Ayao Komatsu (Haas team principal) is his very good friend and said Haas more problems than they wished, but nothing devastating.
- A very interesting info bit from Haas is that they are a very inefficient team cost wise. As they 3rd party a lot of things, this costs more and they are using 150MM cost cap while a team like Red Bull has double the people within the same buget cap.

Congratulations on the WDC Lando!

I hope the 0,5 is not true. That would be rather boring, I was hoping for a fun season...!

Hope it is because it'd be very fun.

If McLaren do turn out to be ahead by that far, then if Piastri sorts out his qualifying deficit to Lando, then it could be an epic battle throughout the year. The papaya rules book will be in the bottom of Albert Park lake.

But I expect things, in reality, to be closer between the teams.

I think Piastri is good but Lando Norris like good? I am afraid not. But if this is true then well done to mclaren to build the perfect car, hats off and very much deserved after the barren run they had post 2012.

Not as much direction change to the following turn so more speed. Wonder if it will be more or less challenging.

T7 should be flat out

Congratulations on the WDC Lando!

Should’ve happened last year already considering the car’s capabilities. That Miami upgrade was maybe 2 races too late and NOR didn’t execute properly, but I don’t think they will let VER win this year.

What garbage. It's well known that the flexi-wing clampdown from Spain onwards is going to effect the playing field quite significantly.

Also, I like how anything that Piquet Jnr says is treated as gospel. When has that guy had a reputation for being a reliable source of information...well, basically ever?

FIA took him quite seriously in 2009 :)

You think that Piquet Jr will marry Sebastian Vettel's aunt in 2047?

It looks like rain all day Sunday, not particularly heavy but rain not showers. There is unlikely to be a dry window.

Draft kings
Norris +175
Verstappen +450

I've got Oscar at +900 yesterday. He's now +450.

Why can no one but Australians do odds correctly? +175 isn't so bad but the Americans and their 4/9 fractions does my head in.

Now I'm confused, I thought the +175 format was the American way. That's where I first encountered it anyway.

Having said that, why do fractions confuse people these days?

All I ask is that unless it's hosing it down with plenty of large puddles around, they don't go with an SC start (even if it's SC and then a standing start).

I certainly hope they don't use the excuse that I think they've used before of "they haven't had any wet running yet this weekend so we'll have an SC start" or "it's a street track so it's more dangerous in the wet so we'll have them start behind the SC"

Ensign14 is better at the Vienna jokes.

175 profit for a winning stake of 100.

I was encouraged by the wet running we got in Montreal last year

Sorry yeah other way around, the english do fractions.

It's just asinine, surely you base it off $1?

I suppose a fraction is cleaner, avoiding decimals. Presumably the 100 stake is used for that reason.

The only fraction one I don't get is that 100/30 is used. I can't help feeling it can be reduced further.

What are odds for him to take the WDC? Might be an alright risk reward there
