This is probably by far the smartest thing anyone has said in this thread.Folio hat on: Red Bull didn't give Lawson more time because of Max's performance clauses. They need the second driver to score points or they risk allowing Verstappen to get out of his current contract.
I think he will end up at Mercedes, replacing Russell.

I think he's going to end up at Aston in 2026 or 2027. New facilities/factory, Newey, Honda, extremely generous compensation. Biggest risk is that the team never gets its act together, but Mercedes hasn't really impressed on that front since 2021 either.
