Does anyone have information on Martin Bickerton or Harlton Racing International (sometimes also called Intercontinental) and based in Stoke-on-Trent? Specifically in relation to the attached advert and the Lotus 23 mentioned in the advert. Any comments welcome, many thanks!

In 1965 Mike Newton-Hugall "former Lotus works engineer" was managing J.C.B. Racing of Rocester, Staffordshire.

The team was running a yellow Lotus 30 for Peter Sadler (Newcastle-under-Lyme), also Jim Clark, Trevor Taylor.

Mechanics Paddy Brown of Rocester, Bill Fradley of Cubley.

Gerry Highfield was the project engineer at J.C.B. (Research) Ltd.

At end 1967 trading from:

38 Waterloo Road, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.

Bickerton thought to be a Chartered Accountant from Stoke-on-Trent.

Martin Bickerton was entered #78 Lotus at Brands Hatch, 2 June 1968.

Car converted to Harlton GT at rear of Waterloo Road car accessory shop, May-July 1968.

#112 at BRSCC Snetterton, Harlton G.T., driver John Dean, 6 October 1968.

Is this John Dean from Stansted, Essex?

We are looking for #100?

The 2-litre V8 Lotus 23 of Rhoddy Harvey-Bailey from 1965 is of interest, rolling chassis thought to have been sold to Jos Randles and fitted with Maserati motor. The project was a flop. Any comments on Randles' Lotus 23?

In 1967-1969 Randles was a Lotus dealer at Wharf Garages, Stoke-on-Trent. Retired 1974.
