Subscribers to Vintage Motorsport were notified by parent RACER that the winter issue would be the last in a line going back 42 years. The notice said the 2 magazines would be combined, and that subscriptions would be honoured with issues of RACER. Content of the revised RACER is to include history and heritage of motorsports, the historic racing scene, collector cars and auctions.
I have never purchase a copy of RACER, judging it to be more focused on F1 and the current racing scene, but we shall see how the new issue evolves.
VM was well written and covered N American historic racing very extensively as well as all International historic events.
I remain attracted to magazines, the ease of reading while relaxing, or carrying a copy to an extended office wait time, has real advantages. Fortunately I have retained most of my issues, and can continue to enjoy reading and researching events indefinitely. Sad to see the demise of VM, it was a great ride.
