Sadly, I have just heard that Penny Griffiths-Woodley - so well known within the Jaguar world - has passed away.
Daughter of the great - but always 'difficult' - 1930s-early '50s motor racing photographer Guy Griffiths, Penny was deeply involved with him and with her husband Roger Woodley of Jaguar in the creation and then growth of postwar Historic racing in this country. Obviously their direct involvement centred upon Guy's extensive Jaguar Collection, which later passed to her. She endured Roger's developing illness and premature death in 1995 with typically tremendous character and fortitude. She was bubbly, bright, feisty, a good photographer in her own right, and extremely knowledgeable - and, my goodness, she loved Jaguar Cars - Sir William Lyons-style - and could drive them very well.
My most sincere condolences to this remarkable lady's surviving family and very many friends.
