FORMULA IS BACK IN TOKYO AFTER A CLASSIC MONACO WEEKEND!

It's Formula E racing month!!

3 events this month: we're just coming out from a spectacular Double Header in Monaco, the home of Formula E, with two classic races that offered some of the best Formula E action in a while.
We saw a big win for Oliver Rowland and his championship quest, and an EPIC drive in the WET by Sebastien Buemi, victorious again after 6 years of troubles!

Missed the Monaco action?? Don't worry, these highlights packages are all you'll need!

Monaco Race 1 Highlights

Monaco Race 2 Highlights

But Monaco is already history: we're already focused on the next steps wich are going to be TOKYO this weekend and SHANGHAI at the end of the month!

What is this sorcery? 3 Formula E races in one month?!

THE TOKYO E-PRIX CIRCUIT!

Racing around the iconic Docks area of Tokyo!, this circuit features all kinds of corners and technical challenges!

Slow corners, bumps, super fast corners and blind turns!

It's been modified and improved from last season: Sector 1 corners are now bit wider, and the chicane right after Turn 16 have been removed, so it's going to be a FAST and downhill corner, with a big height drop from T16 to T17.

Balls of steel needed!

Are you ready for a lap around the track?

giphy.gif?cid=6c09b95273zcp3dr6ey71uy1pn

Sector 1 is a complex sequence of slow corners, and you'll need to link them all to perfection to achieve the best lap time!
Here, the drivers will drive past some of the biggest grandstands of the circuit, cheered by the passionate Japanese fans!

Getting out of the tricky Sector 1, the circuit changes completely: it become fast and scary, with a full throttle Turn 9 corner, with apex speed between 150 and 200 km/h.
Last year, Mitch Evans smashed in the wall in qualifying, this corner is one of Formula E's fastest corners!

Turn 10-11 chicane is fast as well, with drivers launching the car on the kerbs and flirting with the walls, before approaching the T12 90° right hander.

Turn 9 is one of Formula E's fastest corners!

Another fast, flat-out stretch, before approaching the final section of the circuit: from T15 to T16 it's full gas, and here comes a newelty of this year's race.

Last season, there was a slow chicane right after the apex of T16: this year, the drivers will fly into a downhill, fast corner, that's set to be scary and exciting expecially in qualifying.

This fast corner also creates a new overtaking opportunity into Turn 17, wich now becomes a perfect overtaking spot!

Who's going to dive for the inside line in the last lap of the race??

PITBOOST AND DIFFERENT RACE LENGHTS!

The 2025 Tokyo e-Prix will be a Double Header, with races on Saturday and Sunday, but each day will be unique!

Saturday, it will be a PIT-BOOSTED race: so, cars will have to make a mandatory Pit-Stop for recharge (+10% of battery in 30 seconds).
This will allow for interesting strategies, and also for a much faster Race-Pace!

And for the first time in Formula E, we've got 2 different race lenghts!

Saturday's Pit-Boosted Race will be 3 laps longer than Sunday's: this could open up interesting scenarios in energy management and on-track tactics!

IT WILL BE RAINY WEEKEND! BRING THE UMBRELLAS!

Bring your umbrellas: this is set to be a troubled weekend in terms of weather in Tokyo!

While Friday is set to be dry for Free Practice 1, Saturday and Sunday could be rain affected!

Saturady is set to be the worse day of the weekend, with a 80% probablity of rain and high wind for the event!
The Pit-Boosted race could be a dramatic one: in such a narrow and demanding track, this could lead to Safety Cars and incidents!

Sunday is set to be bit better: the rain chances decreases around 30%, and the sun could come out briefly through the day!

NISSAN GOES 8 BIT

The Tokyo e-Prix always proves to be one of the driver's favourites and team's favourites: last year we seen multiple special liveries for the event, and this year is set to be the same!

For example, take a look at this special livery from Nissan; designed by japanese illustrator Kentaro Yoshida!

3UMfEJ9.jpg

This is a tribute to the ARCADE VIDEOGAME that Nissan launched early this week to promote the Tokyo E-PRIX!

It's good fun. Just need a keyboard and you're good to go: be ready to drive the Nissan Formula E car and survive all incidents to reach new records!

Easy!

Not in the UK?

Here it is a list of broadcasters that shows Formula E racing live!

USA:  The race will be broadcasted on Roku & CBS

The (relatively) early starts for this one happen to suit me this year, It means I should be able to watch live.

Interesting that there seems to be discussion about turning this one into a night race in future though.

Big crash for Barnard in the new profiled turn 16!

That corner is very challenging & fast, and we're not full power yet!

The track flow improved BIG TIME thanks to the track changes.
Even Sector 1 looks wider and more flowing.

Big
I'm really liking this track now.

Seems like heavy rain is pretty certain for tomorrow's quali and race.

Cassidy is calling for pre-planning!

No qualy! An FE first. Di Grassi thinks conditions weren't much different to FP2 and could have gone ahead.

Hope the race will be good to go.

Interesting to hear that Rowland deliberately aimed for the top time of FP2 knowing that there was a high chance of qualifying being cancelled.

Hope they can get going for this race

This Stellantis inside job could hand Vandoorne the race.

He would still have to keep it out of the wall, which today is probably no guarantee at all

Crashgate happened because of stupid rules that made it possible shown by Hockenheim 2008. The rules need to change to stop someone doing this deliberately because it shouldn’t be this easy to gift literally anyone the race, and I don’t want this championship being disputed in 2042.

Rowland with two Attack Modes is still in a great position, as is Bird potentially.

Ruh-roh, perhaps Andretti weren't the smartest guys in the room after all.
