The image shows Marcel Balsa in his BMW Special at the 1952 Coupe d'Automne held on the 21st of September at Montlhéry. Balsa won the up to 2000cc race.

I remember my joy when first reading about F2 at the Nürburgring, 1952 - amongst the drivers the euphonious trio Balsa, Nacke and Klodwig instantly lodged in my memory.

I’d add Klenk to that list, although sadly Kling wasn’t in that race. I love the combination of Kling/Klenk in the sportscar drives they shared.
