I'm determed to take part on a national race challenge on the playstation.

With the game Gran Turismo 2 you can win an Audi TT, with the game. This is what you need to do for it:

Choose:
Mode: Arcade disc / Time Attack
Car: Audi TT (yes you can use a modified Audi TT)
Track: Midfield Raceway

And drive your FASTEST lap on that track, save it and send the memory card to playstation Netherlands ( only for Dutch people)

But what's the case? I want to know if my time is FAST!

I already have a modified Audi TT on my memory card, and already setted a quite fast lap now.....

But I need comparable times. WHO DARES???

I hope you will try it also, and put YOUR fast time here.

On the site of playstation stands that 1:30:000 already a fast time is.

Please send your fastest time for that lap! ;)

Frans

Frans, I´m here, but I can´t play the game right now. When I can I´ll post my times. BTW, the car is the one that you buy already modified or you can modifiy it yourself? And what happens to the memory card? Do you get it back?

I might enter, but I only got the game today, and have only played about 4 hours so far, but haven't got much yet. Only the one car so far, 13000 odd credits, and only 1.38% through the game. But I've been doing all the licenses and all, but no all golds (yet ;))

Peeko, thanks.. But....

The competition is ONLY with an Audi TT 1.8 quatro.

Not in ANY other. And I'm not sure you may tune the "sports-edition" (with the German flag on it.

BUT I have bought myself traction control on the car... ;) And it's really faster! :)

anyway, your time is pretty fast Peeko, but can you do it in an Audi TT on the track?

Don't think so..... Hehehe, I'm NOT dead.

I will tell you my time with the Audi TT as soon as I have the game myself. I've played for 4-5 hours only right now. So....

Start practising! :)

eli, I'm looking forward to contributions.

BUT REMEMBER: USE ONLY THE AUDI TT, you may tune it, but it must remain a TT!!!!!

( so I'm not sure you may update it to the "Sport-car" with the paint job, and German flag on it... )

ONLY THE AUDI TT!!!!! Come on.... hehe, I'm getting curious now....

you should find that out because there´s a big difference between the cars.

The Audi TT LM (with the german flag) comes with 544HP, and weighs in a smidge over 2000lbs. You can buy TC, and that other one for turns, but its as modified as you can get.

BTW, I quickly tried this one last night on Midfield and did a 1:02.6, without adjustments to the car. Again Frans, what is your lap time?

Well Peeko, I haven't driven the one with the German flag on.... so all stuff (traction control & stuff bought + turbo's etc.) WITHOUT the "sports car" with the German flag, and the lap time I have with that is 1;13;438

(only 4 hours yet...... so tonight I can improve some bit. AND try the one with the German flag!!!);)

Peeko, is there a diffrence between the one you get when you keep upgrading your car. And the one you can buy at the sports section??

I only used the one what you get with upgrading, and it has 379 hp I believe and the top = 144 mph

While the normal Audi has just as much hp, but his topspeed = 146 mph

Laptimes with the sports Audi are about 1:11:120

Anybody also there? With the Audi TT ??????

Come on guy's! ;)

Frans,

yes, there´s a difference between those two. The racing version is ligther and faster. That´s why I asked which one could you use.

As soon as you're done your laps, Exit, and you'll get that annoying replay come on right away, then exit that. I believe its the third option,"Settings". Make your changes and try again.

Yeah Peeko, how the hell did you get 544 HP in that Audi? I just have a maximum (as far as I know) of 397 HP

I bought E-V-E-R-Y part to buy on that car, so what's the deal, my fastest lap is a 1:11:21 or something like that, but there's not much more in that car! Maximum time to reach with the car I use = a 1:10:5xx I calculated with speed, etc etc.

So please tell me how to setup the gear ratio, what else can you change? With my GT2 CD 01 (Arcade CD) I can only adjust all the bought materials, like I put my medium tire's on, and remove the soft ones. ( I always use the soft one! ) But at traction control you can switch it on an off. That's all, and with the engine you can't do much, how do you do that?

My top speed = 144 mph

What's yours?

Frans,

buy the competition car, don´t tune the road version casuse it will never be as powerfull as the racing one. I told you already. :)

BTW, with Peeko´s advice I could change the setup and my best time was: 1:01.842. Much better than before.

Thanks Peeko.

But does the game display the name "Audi TT quatro something" still???

Because the LOOKs of the upgraded Audi sport is the same as the sports car Audi. (TT??)

The rules say you may use a "tuned" Audi, so I may buy what I like to tune... right?

I'll try the sport one today, and want to break the 1:00:xxx barriere into the 0:59:xxx barriere also today!

Wait untill tomorrow! :)

IT HAS A TWIST!!! :(

You may only use the Audi TT what's on CD 01, the Arcade car.

This one you can't edit by MY knowledge, please tell me I'm WRONG here.

So, without ANYTHING on it. I make a 1:27:310 with that one. I think 1:27:000 is the max you are able to get with that car, that way.... un tuned. :(

Is that so? Please tell me I can tune that car!!!! (CD 01 ONLY!!)

Frans,

from the Arcade disk you can´t tune your car, you can only set it up, but not change ant parts. That´s boring...

How to set the car up then?

I havent managed to do anything with the audi TT I pick at the B-class cars.

btw my fastest lap with that car on that track = 1:27:210

Who's faster in that car?

;)

All right, Frans. My best was 1:27.257 but I could have gone faster, I think into the 1:26´s if I had not screwed a great lap. I just did 10, so I´ll beat you soon. :)

Eli, I won't bet on it if I were you!! ;)

I still have pole, and I won't stop trying before I will reach the ULTIMATE lap out ofthe damn thing...... and I think the FASTEST possible will be a 1:26:5xx but that's THE MAX you can get out with that car.

Anyway, I wish you all the luck Eli...... Try try try and try again....... :) Hahaha. Maybe you will get a little slight change of getting near my new time......... :)

Yep. And btw, just you wait!!!!! ;) hehehe.

I don't get it... How can we know you aren't saying a "fake" time?

My fastest is now a 1:26:9 but a 1:26:4 is a incredible lap. And Peeko, your times in the GT2 challenge site I once saw, aren't impressive at all to be honnest. (it's the same peeko? ;))

you all ARE driving the Audi TT, un-edited/tuned ...right?

That slow damn thing... Well, a 1:26:4 indeed is impressive IF it's treu of course...

Frans, in 2 words: Traction Control :) :) :)

Oh come on guys. Why the heck would I make something like that up? What for? If I didn't already hold the lap record with another car, I'd take a picture of it and post the pic (of it meant that much to you). You just gotta know how to drive :), holding a gear longer here and there, shifting earlier coming out of a turn to avoid wheelspin.

Frans, last night I did a 0:58.439 at RedRock in my Cerbera LM 624HP. That's .340 quicker than the dude that has 326HP more than I do.
If those times aren't impressive, and you can do better, why don't you send your times in if you can top the list?

Peeko,

but how the hell can I proof you my times>?? I do have a FAST car, to get under the 0:58:XXX barriere. (at Midfield)

If I have time and if I like it that moment, I could waste some more time behind the psx. ;) And I'll give it a try. How about that?

Kind regards,

Frans

You'll be honest. Seriously, what do you have to gain by giving me a fake time? Only you would know it, and would you really be able to live with yourself after sending in a counterfit time?? :(

I'll see you at the finish line :)

The only way you get more HP is to buy the car in the "special" section at Audi on your simulation disc.

I used now the Audi TT LM car, no tuning, just driving, after 10 laps:

1:03:2xx

And still there can 0,5 sec OFF, can't it? How are the BEST gear setting? THAT would be a challenge, won't it?

Ok ok,

I now have also the Audi TT LM edition (544hp) since this week in the game....

Time attack, and here's the top 4 so far on Midfield raceway:

1. Peeko 1:02:6
2. Frans MSH 1:03:2
3. Victor 1:04:177
4. Eli 1:04:799

So Peeko say's lowering the car and adjusted the gears..

Well, lowering the car isn't hard at all.... But what's the best seting on this track?

And on gear ratio's I'm not a wonder.... can you give me the settings? ;) Just to try them out, to see if it is REALLY faster!

My time is in 10 laps, un edited car....... And not ONE single perfect lap yet!

Kind regards,

Frans
