How about this cover shot? It makes him look like a moron and for a moment I even wondered if it was a 'Frans MSH' morphed special edition....

Schumacher can at times look real stupid on photos (as I guess most of us do now and then ;)), but couldn't they hirer a better photographer or make a better selection???

A lot of websites lately have been choosing the worst pics of MS .. everyone else seems to look just fine, heh. Maybe Frans is the photo director

Odd when you consider that F1-RACING magazine's editorial staff are fully payed up members of the "Michael Schumacher Appreciation Soceity". Peter Windsor for example you get the distinct impression that he would like nothing more than to share his bed with both Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard.

silver fan, I think it would be more accurate to say f1racings staff just suck up to absolutely everyone in f1, on the basis they can get easy interviews etc by never writing anything bad. its almost embarrassing sometimes

With the possible exception of Hakkinen whom they barely acknowledged as a back to back champion. When Schumacher/Ferrari won last year you could have been forgiven for thinking that Jesus was once again walking amongst us mere mortals.

F1 Racing mag is a direct publication from Bernie Ecclestone & the FIA correct? They can't really be hard on anyone if that is the case ..

How True!!!! Peter Windots bias towards MS and DC is incredible!! Is it just me or all his articles sounding the same later - late breaker this, classicist turner that blah blah. I cant stand anymore articles about "What Makes Schumacher so great..so fast...etc" or "DC: why he will be WC or the new look DC" etc.

I'm glad someone else brought it up first! I was VERY close to posting about how Fugging Ugly Schuey is, especialy on this months cover of F1 Racing, at least he's loaded with ca$h. Also, his eyes look very old and tired, I'm exactly the same age as Schuey, we share a birthday, 01/03/69 and I don't have half the wrinkles and lines as he does, I noticed that on the last all Schuey issue

Ok, I should admit, he has a lot more hair than I do:(

I have seen far worse photo's of Schuey than that one. I think it is safe to say he is not the most "photogenic" of fellows, but I really didn't think this one, was that bad.

Leave the poor guy alone, he looks normal enough.

Those who criticise him the most all look like Fabio, I should imagine.

Why is he always using only half his face? When he speaks , smile, etc. he seems to be using only his right side. Even his jaw is more pronounced in one side. Has he been disfigured/paralized by accident, like Hakkinen? Or just plain natural born ugly? :)

That's not to put him down, I say that the uglier the driver, the better the driving! ;) Just look at Prost, lauda (ugly even before the acident), Piquet, Fangio (bandy legs, bald and overweigh, not a sex symbol)...

Same thing with musicians, just think of blues men against boy bands... Mick Jagger against Ricky Martin...

My god! What a frivoulous post!

I've seen far worse ones than that. But considering it's the cover of a magazine, its pretty ugly.

He looks a lot better on TV though.

I like those "late braker, classic turn in" articles. Hes the only writer who consistently talks about stuff like that. If you want to read about the usual boring race report, shallow analysis articles, read all other million F1 writers. Hes bias, but behind the bias is usually some pretty interesting observations.

Im probably just sick of those types. I prefer his articles when he drives a race as the driver ie "he put the power on early out of the final corner and this time the acceleration was perfect - P1 - it was a magical lap" - hang on - maybe i do like those types of articles - just not the bias.

I think this photo is worse, it shows the world why Michael was never caught with illegal TC in 94/95 at Benetton....

and how somebody held "a hand" above his "head"...... (a protective hand)

 with a face like his, there's little chance of ANY good and/or normal photo....

only the chin!!!

I know that my opinion on this subject won't be taken too seriously, but I just read the issue of F1-Racing in question. Peter Windsor was filled with praise for MS and DC, but also for RS, Michele Alboreto, and Gilles Villeneuve. Articles on Marc Gene, Fernando Alonso, Olivier Panis, Ayrton Senna, and Eddie Jordan were similarly upbeat. Eddie Irvine was repeatedly used as a punching bag, and there is only so much you can do to mention Jacques Villeneuve without it sounding like an insult, but everything else in the magazine read like a press release. I'm not sure they're biased for the mentioned drivers, so much as just being a bit fluffy.

There was one article that bothered me. Tom Clarkson said that Mario Thiessen, of BMW, had "canned Paul Rosche 12 months ago." Paul left BMW, but I thought he had stayed on past his planned retirement date in order to set up the F1 engine program, and then left, as he'd planned, once the program was in place. Does anyone know the true story? This is very important to me.

Kimi Raikkonen is most definitely an exception! :)
I'm surprised at the at how awful Schumi looks on the cover of F1 Racing. He looks so smug. Usually everybody in that magazine looks fantastic--all luminous and dewy, especially in the issues from the end of last season.
I wonder what happened there?

MS does look smug on that cover. Worst part is the title "My Brilliant Career...." what a joke.

But, it's not about how good you look in photos - it's about how good your wife looks in photos.

Also note how they (IMV) retouched the phote quite a bit from the waist down. Prolly also because of the (laughable) cover texts, but the whole part below the waist looks wrong as well.

I wonder if they just had that single photo, or that some editors had a long bender and intoxicated and all brawled about "I dare you to use the WORST picture we have for the cover!!!! buwahaaha!!! And Joe, you think up the most idiotic title to go with it, hahahahaha!" ;)

I see no other explanation.

Hey - lay of Michael! :p

He's a brillient racer! As for his looks, well a lot of women find that he has great sex appeal, so he must be doing something right!

Wouldn't have anything to do with his wealth or speed now would it....

Who said women are shallow and materialistic, judging a man by how much money he has (**** loads) and what sort of a car he drives (Ferrari).;)

Not all women and not always!
Besides, sex appeal and any other type of appeal can be miles apart!

Anyways, I thought men were the shallow ones, judging a woman by the size of her boobs and the lenght of her skirt :p

*curses men*

hehehe.... :p

That one doesn't look as bad, as the one up top. I have to admit that he looks silly in the "My Brilliant Career" one. Maybe if he lost the hat for one thing.

I'm just glad that none of you put YOUR pictures in this discussion for comparison... what a thought! Have any of you thought to ask your "significant others" what they think of Shuey's looks?

Or do you dare ask? :p

Actually I have, she's German and I rather naively thought that she would be in Schumacher's corner, how wrong I was. Having said that she's no particular fan of F1 period.

Those tight leather pants he's wearing in the Feb. issue are giving out too much information.

Michael isn't the last person to admit he's not a looker. If I'm correct, he pretty much acknowledged that his chin takes up most of the room in his helmet.

Looking at the shirtless pic, I think he's a little young to be needing to wear the "bro" or the "manzier". Reminds me of another Seinfeld episode. Guess it's time to go back into the Paddock club and discuss it with gerry.

We saw some terrible pictures on a Canadian TV channel at the weekend, of Ralf and Michael, it was almost as if they had gone out of their way to find the most silly looking pictures of them both.

This is by far the most interesting thread I ever red

But anyway, he does look ugly. But I don't care much about that. What I do find irritating is that he uses the words obviously and basically about ten times in each sentence. Even when it really isn't appropriate. :p

And even worse... Ralf starts doing it too.

Schumacher doesn't look like a racer, more like a human muppet.

Nevertheless he does races .

"My Brilliant Career"
And the cover photo is just indescriptible...
Now I know why the Spanish version's cover was a DLR photo. :p

About Peter Windsor... the guy writes about race driving so well...
the classicist turner or late braker stuff is great and a joy to read.
I don't think he is too biased, because he has rarely said a bad thing about a driver (Irvine the exception).
