I called speedvsion (888-22-Speed). I told her that I was very pleased wth their Formula 1 Programing. I told her that I heard a rumor that Comcast had sold its stock in Speedvision to Fox. I told her that some people are concerned about Speedvision turning into a Nascar channel I told them I didn't care about Nascar but please keep the F1.
Her response was "Don't worry we will. Have a good night." If more people call maybe we can make a difference.

Thank you for the post, I called and expressed my opinion and the receptioninst said that they have had a great number of calls tonight and that they feel they will keep the european coverage up if possible but the change of ownership has been a big change and there will probably be a bit more NASCAR on. She also said that she is passing all the calls on to the directors so I think it is important for all Canadians and Americans who get Speedvision to call and let your opinion be heard. It only takes a minute and costs nothing to do so why not call and help us sway our beloved network into continuing if not expanding its good coverage of all forms of motorsport.

Thanks for the number. I'll call them as a counterpart to the letter I sent. It's about all we can do at this point.

Just sent a note to Fox Sports half smooze, half threat. Hope you guys are doing the same..
Wouldn't it be great Mel if Atlas F1 officially organized a compaign to keep Speedvision showing races in 2002 & beyond. Mabey even include other F1 sites as well. There are 3 or 4 other headings in the forum on the same topic.
If this Fox thing happens Atlas will undoubtedly lose members too so they have an incentive to lobby Fox in all our interest.
What do you say Mel? I'm posting this in other headings on same subject for all to see.

How about AtlasF1 and 7thGear work together to try to save Speedvision?

Why is everyone assuming that FOX will axe F1, didn’t they try to get F1 before the 2001 season but didn’t because of BE wanted the USGP on there FOX channel and not on FOX SPORTS NET, but couldn’t because of NFL football. With this take over if we make our voices heard they might start broadcasting certain GP’s live on regular FOC channel. Get F1 more airplay to a wider audience and who knows what could happen next year. We could get the Canadian, Brazilian GP live on FOX. Speedvision is a great channel, but with FOX F1 may get a larger audience. But of course I could be totally wrong and FOX could turn Speedvision to an all NASCAR channel, get ride of the Rally’s and screw us out of good racing.

It's not just F1 that is the concern, it is ALL the forms of motorsport that Speedvision gives us.

Yeah whatever. All I care about is LeMans, F1, FIA Rally, GP and Superbikes.
The rest can go away and I woudln't even notice.
BTW, it's ridiculous to think that we can 'save' Speedvision.
FOX bought the company they can do whatever they want. I'd say forget about it and go outside for a while. Walk your dog or something...
