TNF-ers,
Some friends and I are planning a short holiday in France, in which the main theme will be: (old) racing tracks.
Of course we have a shortlist, including the usual suspects: Clermont-Ferrand, Reims, Rouen, Le Mans.
But maybe some of you have some suggestions or advice. Pua-Arnos? Mas du Clos? Ricard?
Tnaks in advance

Hi Mat,
I'm not sure Pau-Arnos is still existing to this day. But if you go
to Pau the streets of the town are a remarkable pilgrimage for
motor racing fanatics. The track of the Grand Prix hasn't
changed since the 50s.
Another natural track in the area is the Saint Gaudens -
Comminges circuit. It's on national roads and at one point there
still is a huge grandstand built on a hill wich is something to see.
I don't think they will let you in the Castellet. It's undergoing
major change this days and when TTE is not testing it is closed
to the public.
Have a nice trip anyway,
FEV

FEV,
Pau Arnos is a fairly new track, I think it's North West of Pau and to my knowledge it's used mainly for testing .

mat1, I hope you and your pals have a great time inspecting the old tracks(green with envy). My buddy has to go to France this summer(July 24 to August 24)for his nephew's wedding and he wants to check out some circuits(historic and current)as well. He vintage races here(western Canada)and would like to attend a vintage event or two while he is there. If you(or any of the posters)can recommend or know of any event(s) in France between those dates,I sure would appreciate some info.
Many thanks,
Have fun,mat1.

No meetings in France that I know of, but if he’s in the north of the country it shouldn’t be too difficult to get to Spa-Francorchamps for the meeting there on 27/29 July. And the Nürburgring isn’t much further - for the Oltimer Grand Prix meeting on 11/12 August

Unfortunately France shuts for the summer! Usually no racing brtween July 14 And early September. believe all marshals have to be,by law, paid employees of FFSA,and go on holiday.
