I am thinking of which race to go to next year, having already been to Spain in April, and was beginning to check out the prices.

According to the Observer newspaper the circuits charge the folowing for what I assume are 3 day Grandstand passes

Melbourne £ 310
Sepang £ 204
Interlagos £ 300
Imola £ 504
Spain £ 237
A1-ring £ 235
Monaco £ 850
Montreal £ 179
Nurburgring £ 311
Magny Cours £ 203
Silverstone £ 312
Hockenheim £ 204
Hungaroring £ 270
Spa £ 190
Monxa £ 511
Indianapolis £ 130
Suzuka £ 450

Spain didn't cost us that much, We paid about £180, but I know that Silverstone is about right (that's partly why we went to Spain!!). This isn't very helpful, as you may imagine. I have checked out some of the circuits but they aren't selling/advertising their tickets yet for next year yet.

Can anybody let me know how much they have had to pay for tickets this year? As acurate information would be helpful.

Hungaroring - Silver 3 Grandstand / Whole weekend - 184,07€ + 12,78€ for delivery. Is that accurate enough?;)

philhitchings,

Those figures are British pounds as I understand. Some races are incredibly high then. Does it explain why Bernie is one of the richest men in the world? I believe there are much cheaper stands maybe.

ps. Isn't there quite a big difference then compared to UreaBorealis' Hungaroring prices?

The tickets for Indianapolis are for Sunday only. Those tickets range from $45 to $80. For Friday and Saturday, you must buy general admission tickets. I think these were around $25 to $35 dollars per day. Parking is also available for $20 per day, though you can park cheaper than that in the yards of nearby homes. (It's nice tax-free income for the home owner.;) )

A few dollars here and there then. I Still think that USA has got the best deal in the World though. I think it's cos the US market wouldn't tolerate such high prices.

I couldn't justify Monaco Money for one race knowing that I could probably go to two for the same price Iincluding travel from UK:eek:

You're forgetting that, as I understand it, Indianapolis has a lot more seats available than anywhere else. I'm not sure what the seating is for F1, but the crowds for the Indy 500 are up around 400,000! I believe that the USGP seats around 150-200,000.

Monaco, on the other hand, has very few tickets available (at any price).

Still, if I had a choice, I'd go to Monaco in a second!

The four day grandstand tickets for the Fangio stand (pit straight) at the Aussie GP cost me AUD $399, which is about £140. Even the most expensive stands, Jones and Brabham, at the first corner 'chicane' were AUD $528, about £190. So quite how they managed to figure it would cost £310 is beyond me. For £310 pounds you could get your grandstand ticket, as well as food and some F1 merchandise as well!

Montreal: the Senna Hairpin (Turn 1 & 2), Grandstand 11 or 12, the Silver seats....

$325 Cdn, or about 150 pounds, or 250 euros.

Me and a couple of friends have discussed going to Monza this year. The atmosphere is apparently amazing there, though I'm not sure I like the layout too much?

Spa on the other hand is my favourite track layout wise. I'm told though that it's a hazzle to get there and also that it's hard to get a good view there?

When I see the difference in price, Monza 511£ and Spa 190£, then it really makes me wonder. Can some one who has been to both races advice me please?

Sunday prices only for last year:
Spa at Raidillon 10,000 SF
Monza at Outer Goodyear Variante 550000 Lira

You'll have to do your own exchange conversion.

Spa has loads of great views whether it is a grandstand or on the Gravel, The only gripe I have is that when we went the only screen was at Kemel good for speed but obviously useless for corners. We watched the race near stavelot On a great bank (had Villenueve slip out on sunday right below us, Saw Fisichellas' crash, and in the Race were some of the few to know that Mika had taken a half spin) Only £85 quid for the weekend AKA general admission.

Firends of ours that went to Monza said that it is all sewn up with ticket checks evry few hundred metres, they felt penned on the whole time. I know what I would prefer;)

philhitchings,

Thanks for the info. Spa sounds great! Kemel is probably where I would wanna stand anyway, I suppose one would have seen MH's unbeleivable overtaking from there?

I was talking to a British backpacker at this year's Australian GP, and she said that the Australian GP were rather cheap, compared to somewhere like, Silverstone.

She was only going to spend about $300, but when she realised the conversion rate, she bought a $400 Grandstand ticket for the weekend.

regards,
doohanOK.

well, if the $300usd I spent on montreal tix seemed like a bargain, then what would you call my $45 dollar USGP ticket?

now, to be sure, indianapolis, the city, blows goats, and the experience in montreal is unparalleled, so it's not going to be a weekend, but I can drive down from my dorm room, and see them have at it for next to nothing.

if you're thinking of going to indy, though, just head a little further north, because montreal is THE BEST.

I wouldnt trust that price guide at all. It looks very exaggerated to me. As stated earlier, Melbourne GP prices are nowhere near that much. Maybe they were looking at corporate.

...and the most expensive grandstand in Hungaroring (The one at the start-finish line) costs this year 230£ vs the 270£ listed in the price guide. That leaves 40£ for beer and other life supporting equipment. :drunk:

The Monaco figure seems very suspect to me.

This year two of the most expensive grandstands were K Tabac on Saturday for £110 and O swimming pool on Sunday for £220.

Not cheap but nowhere near £800 !

These are prices direct from the Automobile Club de Monaco.

If you get your tickets from Page & Moy in England expect to pay and additional £40 to £50 per ticket per day.

If you're going to sepang the expensive grandstand tickets are actually some of the worst places to watch the race. Go for the much cheaper "grandstand" tickets. They call them grandstand but for the first year they were just normal seats(uncovered), after that they became permanent covered stands and they offer the best views of the track.

All grand prix have a huge price range, and I guess in some countries if you don't mind sitting on a grass field they come really cheap, and still offer a great view. At sepang sitting in the sun for a few days from early morning untill the races are over is suicide, I know=).

Do other races have a discount if you buy tickets early?? At sepang you get 30, or was it 15% if you order early, which is nice.

Again, Melbourne is way off the mark - i paid around $350 AUD this year for Weekend Prost Stand Tickets (around £130) .

Also, having just been involved in getting GA Sunday tickets to Spa & Monza - the difference between them sounds wrong, Sunday Monza $100 AUD (about £35-40 ) and Spa $200+ AUD??
