Hello,
I will be going to the USGP (which looks like it may be very anticlimatic in terms of the championship), and was wondering if there were any campsites either on the track or close by? I know there are sites for the Indy500 and the Brickyard 400, and was wondering if the same applied to the F1 race?
Thanks in advance,
Chittiappa.

There is no camping inside the circuit, however there is quite a bit of camping outside. The circuit is located within the town of Speedway and is built up with homes all around the track and many of the homeowners allow camping on their property. The facilities vary greatly, ranging from none at all! to some who will allow you to use everything in their house. It all seems to be negotiable for a price. There is a great deal of motorhome camping, with a lesser amount of tent camping. Good luck!

You can get a parking pass from IMS and camp in the parking lot. Everyone camps there. It costs $50 for a four day pass. They have toilets but no showers so get ready to smell like your at the French Grand Prix.

i was quoted $100 for a backyard camping space 15 miles south of indy last year (new whiteland), and was told that was typical.
