which ones do you think are good, if not great? (*AtlasF1 is always #1, so don't bother*);)

Great Sites
1- www.f1-live.com
2- www.galeforcef1.com
3- www.f1-racing.net
4- www.autosport.com
5- www.planetF1.com

Questionable
1- www.F1.on.net
2- www.F1i.com
3- www.ITV-F1.com

AHhhhh!!!!
1- www.Formula1.com

I just need to be convinced that the middle three are worth visiting. I have not found that yet, as some stories seem far fetched and shared almost word for word.

f1-live is a joke. They follow itv-f1's practice of misquoting people and building whole articles based on sentences uttered several weeks before.

Found dailyf1 just recently, but so far it looks credible, and they have features not found elsewhere.

http://www.dailyf1.com

f1-live sometimes is good, sometimes it sucks (plus they use webbugs). They sometimes have old information, but on the weekends they are usually up to date. I rate them unoriginal ;)

Original, but highly controversial stuff and sloppy javascript programming. Recommended only if you have time to waste.

Definitely agree with PlanetF1. Alternative Championship is excellent!

http://www.grandprix.com is also a pretty decent site.

I hate how Formula1.com uses the same headline for a week. :(

I used to be a regular visitor to Autorace.com but since they took on Jordan as their anchor sponsor, they're really taken a nosedive, and now run outright flak pieces for Shell, TAG watches and the like. Autorace doesn't seem to proofread their stories for errors in spelling, syntax and grammar. I doubt that Jordan will continue their association past the end of the season. Good riddance.

www.autosport.com is a very good site.
www.planetf1.com is okay
www.galeforcef1.com is as dead in terms of news or other activity

I can't question f1-live or f1-racing, because I'm not familiar with them.

www.itv-f1.com is, well, ahem

and www.formula1.com is the same

I think the second best website, without doubt, is F1i.com. It has great exclusives (they reported that Rahal had offered Irvine to Jordan ages before any other F1 site and they also said that Rahal was to get sacked about a week before the event). More recently it informed us that Justin Wilson had a Jordan test a week before Atlas. They obviously have good kosha sources and aren't afraid to print stories which no-one else has - i can't recollect them being wrong. But ya know what, even if they are a bit off I wanna know what gossip is going round the paddock! The stories are always well written - especially some of the features which mirror Atlas' quality style. Its not just press releases which is why I'm not a big fan of Planet-f1 or F1.com. They're not journalists, just typists.

They also have good exclusive interviews and, my personal favourite section, Intrigue. There are lots of funny stories on there which you don't see on any other site. Its just silly tales of the drivers' antics and gossip which you don't normally read.

I have to agree with you on that one. F1i is good for thing slike that, but on some other stories, they seem to 'slop' around too much.

What d'ya mean 'slop' around? I think it's stories are concise and are quite good at linking the news together. For example, Atlas said the other day Alonso might replace Button but F1i explained it in greater depth.

The only ones I even look at are Autosport and Atlas. I haven't read Atlas since it became a paysite, but seeing what's outthere, I'll definately be subscribing soon.

one of my favorites is www.crash.net

covers most forms of autoracing, which makes it very interesting and informative. the site used to be F1picturenet.com, which was the best F1 site I have ever found. but crash.net is still very good for F1 and everything else.

ITVF1.com
The only pieces I now read on this site are The Mole, which I find informative, reliable and well researched editorial comment on F1 and Not the F1 news purely for the humor. I used to be a regular reader but got sick of the British bias and the difficulty in going back to read the history if I wanted to compare a past story with what the current story said. Also the time it takes to load and all those flashing advertising images are very distracting.

DailyF1.com
Has some different stories and profiles from Atlas but I primarily use as a secondary source for news and opinion. There BB was the first one I joined but found that it was not very well moderated. Example, yesterday there was about 10 threads all started by the same person that should have been deleted as they were extremely offensive just looking at the titles. They had been there some time as there was another thread complaining (for want of a better word) about them. The only reason I visit their forum now is to take part in their GTG competition.

That is why I subscribe to Atlas F1  :)

Being a Villeneuve fan, I have found J.P. Borg's site very useful. His articles are well written and are usually accurate. His site can be reached at http://www.jacques.v...testing_bar.htm.
In general though, I frequently visit sites such as Autosport Online, Atlas F1, F1 News, Formula 1.com, and occassionally I will brave F1-Live or ITV, although I do this more for entertainmnet reasons. :)

Uhm, isn't "credible F1 websites", an oxymoron?

An oxywhat?

Does that mean a contradiction in terms, that is one precludes the other.

Why are you looking for other sites? the live coverage sites have their purpose and most of the time they do a reasonable job. But having spent some quite considerable time looking at news sites and Atlas is the only one really doing the job I expect. I know this appears sycophantic but it is how I feel.

(I don't spend money easily on the internet but It took me no time at all to subscribe to Atlas when it stopped being free)

Definitely Atlas for general information on F1, I was an early subscriber and feel that it was worth it. My equal first site is www.tifosi-club.com as it gives me my Ferrari/Schumacher fix when I need it. The third site I regularly visit is www.planetf1.com for fast access to archive material AND the Alternative Championship news ( funniest thing on the net)
Most other sites I drop in on occasionally and usually drop out fast!

Yep that is the meaning of the word
