Think about it, all those safety regulations can be tossed out the window, these will be machines to entertain people, no one will die, maybe they will even get personalities, to fit a racer's spirit.
Of cource I would not like such a f1 future, as watching a human drive is a wonder, the skill and talent from one of our own, but its such a technological era, and future to be, thought it was a interesting idea for a topic.
Enjoy your day/night

I can see it now....2072...Frank Williams, kept alive in a state of Darth Vader-like engineering, releases his new drivers. Both have been developed by using DNA samples from Michael Schumacher and Kimi Raikonnen...and the talking segment of the brain has been injected with a large dose of IrvineDNA©

But I can see it now. In a oh, so near future, people will celebrate the fact Minardi finally hired it's second replicant/cyborg driver. Now, all teams has perfect men and women behind the wheel.
Every one of then, genetically treated since the womb, with amazing tecnologic implants are incapable to make a mistake. They know exactly what the car can take.
Every one of them do every single lap with absolute perfection. Smooth. Flawless. During interviews, a chip on their throat avoids'em to say anything that may offend their coleagues or the BernieBot (absolute ruler of the show). This chip also avoids then to say a single phrase without a sponsors name.
Formula One is finally the absolute perfection of auto race.
But they are loosing audience.
More and more, race fans craw to hidden, illegals temples, to light candles to Amon, demi-god of Speed and trade forbidden tapes and articles about their heroes. The names are mentioned between wispers, all afraid of the BernieCops. Sacred names like Peterson. Gilles. Alesi. Mansell. Pace. de Cesaris. And many others.
BernieBot don't know what to do. All the teams have perfect drivers, getting results. But something is missing, and he don't know what.

Most of us don't want to look at it, we are too interested in the immediate gratification of our personal desires and will do anything for a distrction (like watch F1) because deep inside ourselves we are not at peace.
In ten years the enviornmental effects we have on the world are said to be irreversable; but who cares right; as long as we have money for now and some entertainment and as long the people footing the bill for our material luxery are only distant images we see on TV; most of us are too cowardise to make real changes because we have not been educated to do so and therby feel powerless.
For F1 to survive that long, it will need to find another power source, like gas or electricity. Maybe solar power. Also the world will have to be at relative peace; another world conflict may hinder the formula one circus from moving around so much and people from watching.
It seems as the world changes, many are taking F1 less seriously mysekf included. Even MS since 9-11 took it easy as he saw a bigger perspective, as well all did.
I think F1 will not survive another 50 years. A break away series will be formed and perhaps a few with different regulation once the concord agreement expires.
Real F1 = Bernie Eccelstone and some of the other central figures at the teams. THey are a part of the formula.

Or maybe it didn't implode. Maybe it got so big that it developed its own gravity, becoming... Planet F1! (Sorry for the rival publicity)
