That is interesting, thank you, Bira. So threads with multiple pages will get more 'views', at least those where people start from page 1 and read all the way through.... I suppose that's fair enough

Bira: Just an idea. Loads of people always are going on about changing the line up of the forums ont he front page of the BB. How about putting an option in the User Cp so that the user can choose their individual settings when they log in.

i have no idea if this is possible, but I can see taht the line up of threads within different forums can be altered with different criteria.

Ali_G: Thank you for the suggestion. However, I don't know who are those "loads of people" you mention. Where are they? Are "Loads of people" equal to 20 people? 12? 2? 1? :confused:

With as merely as 9 forums on this BB, I fail to see the need for such as option, nor do I see anything wrong with the current order.

How about a multiple option poll? At the moment, you can only select one option. Would it be viable to extend it so you can choose two or more options (e.g. a "Who do you think will get sacked this year?" poll) - using tick boxes instead of radio buttons?

Also, would it be possible to extend the size of the

section of the form? It's not very wide - on Opera or IE6 (this may be the way I've got them configured). I had a look at the HTML source and it looks like it's 60 columns. Howabout making it wider? Can you specify the width as a percentage of the page width instead (like with tables)?<br />

					Why am I getting so many "Reply to post" emails for the same post ? <br />

Emails say "There may be other replies also, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the board again." but I'm randomly getting more than one email. In the case of the Ferrari Colors for 2002 I received SIX emails.<br />

					You get an e-mail notification for every post made within a certain timeframe. If you visit the BB, you continue to get notifications, simple as that. (Because the BB has no way of knowing if you actually read the thread or not).<br />
<br />
If you are a frequent visitor to the BB, don't use e-mail notification. Certainly don't use it on threads that are frequently updated.

					Bira, I may not have explained myself correctly. It is obvious that any time I visit the BB, it will think I visited EVERY post to which I'm subscribed to and generate notifications as replies are made to them. It's not that. It's that I am getting multiple notifications BETWEEN visits to the BB and/or the site itself.<br />
<br />
If there is nothing bad on your side and I didn't knew better, I'd think someone has hacked my login information.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I just delete the multiple emails, I just wanted to point out a behaviour that looked anomalous to me. No sweat.

					Bira, how about a search function where you can search a specific thread? Sometimes you know it is in that thread but the thread has 500 replyes and it is hard to find.<br />

The 'search in specific thread' is one bloody hard hack to do -- there's been a couple before me who tried <img src='https://forums.autosport.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
What you can do, is use the search function in your browser to search on a page (of course, if the thread has several pages you will need to run the search in each page).<br />
<br />
As for the password - not sure I understand what you mean. Explain?<br />

					I'm not sure if this has been brought up and I haven't read this whole thread but here it goes ... When you reply twice, three times etc to a thread your number of posts doesn't update.<br />

I'm not sure if it just takes time but on the same day it doesn't seem to do it.<br />

We meet once a month and review your behaviour and contribution to the Bulletin Board and should we decide you behaved well, we update your posting count. 					To have an indicator tellling us how many other people are on Atlas (or just the forums) at any one time? I've seen it done on e-z boards in the past and whilst it's not 100% neccessary it would be a nice element similar to the Views feature that was introduced a while ago.
