Hey I never knew the guy even had a son. But it certainly looks as though he's off to a great start. Now all we need is the skinny on Nigel Mansell's boys.

Hey did Senna replicate - oh no...he had that so called girlfriend who claimed to have had his love child.

Yeah I know...quit living in the past!

F1 Champs with kids who race:

Nelson Piquet - Nelson Piquet Jr (age 17ish)
Keke Rosberg - Nico Rosberg (16)
John Surtees - Henry Surtees (10ish)

Anyone know any others? There was a Cristiano Piquet racing at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Vegas this weekend, don't know if he's any relation.

I remember Mansell saying he wouldn't encourage his kids to go into racing

Senna's daughter (if it's true) will be just about Cadet kart age if I remember rightly...

I think Birdie actually means kids as in "pre-adults" (I was just kidding), but as far as WDC's with offsring who currently drive, I can think of:

Phil Hill - Derek Hill
Jack Brabham - Geoff, David and Gary
Mario Andretti - Michael Andretti

And I'm sure there are at least a few that I have forgotten.

John Surtees has a little kid?!?

The Scheckter kids are also racing (when they are not getting themselves in trouble). Tomas was the promising one until last year's troubles with the law in the UK.. :|

N. Piquet Jr. just got his first win last weekend. He races in the South American F3 (a very competitive formula) and it was only his 6th race (he took 2nd place in his first race) and the conditions were mixed, with parts of the track very damp. IMO he will be very strong for the title next year, then it´s Europe for him. Remember that the SA-F3 title means automatic superlicense for F1. I heard NP has his son´s career all planed, ending, of course, with a F1 seat in about 3 years.

Phill Hill and Dan Gurney have kids in racing. Gurney is in British F3, Hill is in F3000.

Just a question: is there really a "junior" on the kid's name? Isn't it Nelson Ângelo Piquet, or Nelsinho Piquet?

Any new about Nicolas Prost and Lucca Fittipaldi? It's never too early to jump in a Kart.

Well I've seen all three used. I think he was Nelson Angelo Piquet in the programme for last years World Kart Champs, that would be what is on his racing license anyway

Nelson Angelo Piquet won his first race in very difficult conditions. It was raining a lot in the Cascavel´s circuit. He have only 16 years, I think he could be a very good driver.Posted Image

Nelson Angelo's elder brother has a son so Nelson is a grandad!!

Others I can think of right now are Jean-Pierre Beltoise, Michael Bleekemolen who race against their sons in production cars

Teo Fabi's son is in karts

and I'm sure there's some others but I can't really be bothered to look right now..

I could be wrong but IIRC, Ryo Katayama, son, of course, of Ukyo (must be about 8 or 11 now) did some karting a little while ago?

Maybe Piquet jr can carry on the family tradition and beat up one of Eliseo Salazar's kids. :)
