Doug Nye told us about Cyril Posthumus’ sad ending. Does anyone know when he died?

Regarding Joe Lencki I’ve seen the SSDI dates, too. But they do not correspond with the info from this site: „born at the turn of the 20th century“, „died in May of 1994 at the age of 93“ (Lencki from SSDI was younger and died in February 1994).

Posthumus died October 1992.

Lawler. I was under the (mistaken?) impression his full name is Aldo. But keep it as Alo, as whatever name it is, Alo is what he raced under. EDIT I think his full name is Aloysius. I think I'm wrong here.

Lencki. No, this is him. Born at the turn of the century = 1903. From Chicago, yep. Not all articles are correct - Lance Macklin's obituary in MotorSport magazine said he died on his birthday! An article about Bill Rader got his death year wrong by 10 yrs! Tut Tut!
Maybe the SSDI has the February death wrong, but I'm 95% sure this guy is one & the same.

Harvey-Noble, with a hyphen. This is one whose name definitely had a hyphen in period, unlike some who've acquired them (probably involuntarily!) later.

AF Rivers Fletcher (no hyphen - Rivers is a forename, so he should be listed under F);) He closes his first autobiography on September 3rd 1939 with a statement that he was then 27. So, between 4/9/11 and 3/9/12 :)

What's your source for that Richie? It doesn't sound right at all. Even his son's website uses Rivers:

OK, so River in your post was a typing error. I see ancestry.co.uk indexes under Rivers, Fletcher and Rivers-Fletcher

Oh, sorry, was that what you were querying. Yep, a typo. I hadn't noticed that.

I meant to say to Rewind his surname was Fletcher, not Rivers-Fletcher.
If you look on Ancestry and the British death index, it gives his name as Alec Francis Fletcher. I can find the link if you want.

Barry Mulholland has died very recently, within the last two months. Only the fourth Bathurst 1000 victor to have passed on. The others being the original John Roxburgh, Gregg Hansford and Ian Geoghegan. I'm not sure about Tony Roberts.

Welcome to TNF, John!

There is a "Russell Catlin" on the Social Security Death Index
with 17 February 1908 as birthdate,
November 1983 as date of death
& Cuyahoga Falls, Summit, Ohio as death residence locality.

Do these snippets fit?

But answers generate new questions: :cat:
May I ask you about some death dates, too?
Bertelli (1979), Bertocchi (1981), Davenport, Godfrey, Rouault & Taylor (1966) I don’t have exact dates for.

I think that I create a special thread for my questions and answers , is it OK ?

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm estatic with this information

Firstly, thanks for the Boyer information.

Secondly, do you have a place of death for both Guyot & Guidotti? In both cases, I'm only now missing that information.

Please do create a thread, I, too, look forward to more of your posts! :D

There were three brothers Fournier: Maurice (1880 – 1911), Henri (1871 – 1919) & Achille.
All three took part in the 1903 Paris-Bordeaux(-Madrid) race.

I have Achille Fournier racing on Gobron-Brillié (1902), Mors (1903, 9th at Paris-Bordeaux), Hotchkiss (1904-05) & Clément-Bayard (1906).

Thank you, Nanni, for this - although it's rather sad to learn of a person's dates of birth & death at the same time. :(

I don't remember that I ever heard of his sorry fate.

Daniele Albertin and his 20 y.o. wife were killed in a road accident occurred in the Milano-Venezia highway, near Soave, province of Verona, Italy, when their Fiat 131 Diesel crashed into a concrete pole. The young wife of Daniele Albertin was at the wheel of the car at the moment of the accident. They were coming back home from England, where Albertin had gone to contact a British Formula 2 Team in sight of the 1983 season.
Daniele Albertin was one of the most promising Italian drivers, he had started his racing career in 1975 with the Formula Italia Championship, then he raced a Modus F.3. From 1977 to 1980 he raced in the European F.3 Championship: in 1977 he scored one 5th and two 6th places in a March-Toyota, in 1978 he campaigned a Ralt RT1-Toyota, obtaining a 3rd place in the Grand Prix de Monaco F.3 and at Kassel-Calden, and a 4th place at Zolder and at Zeltweg, being 8th in the final classification, and winning a non-championship race at Zeltweg. The following season he was again 8th in the championship, scoring a 3rd place at Kassel-Calden and a 5th at Jarama. In 1980 Albertin drove a Martini MK31-Toyota in Europe and also went to UK to race in the British F.3 Championship: his best result was an incredible 3rd place at Silverstone, in a round of the BARC/BRDC Vandervell Championship, behind Kenny Acheson and Thierry Tassin.

Does anyone have the bday/dday for Midget great Chester "Chet" Gibbons? He raced in the 1940s at places like Yellow Jacket, Buffalo Civic Stadium and West Springfield Speedway among others.

I was away from this board for years but I "accidentally" find this thread, and I think I can answer some for ReWind's query:

Naohiro Fujita: Born 4 March 1848, Hitoshima Prefecture.
Matsuhisa Kojima: If he's Mitsuhisa Kojima who raced in late 90s, he was born 21 May 1970.
Motoharu Kurosawa: Born 6 August 1941, Ibaraki Prefecture.
Eiki Muramatsu: Born 23 April 1965, Yamanashi Prefecture and died 23 March 1990 at Fuji Speedway.
Shuroko Sasaki: Must be Shuroku Sasaki. Born 14 March 1947.

I hope if these helps.

Many thanks, Tomoko!

Matsuhisa Kojima was owner of a Japanese Formula 1 team in 1976 and 1977. His business is said to have been the importation of bananas to Japan.

That's the man whose birth date I am looking for.

A racing driver called Mitsuhisa Kojima is completely unknown to me. A Google search for that name produced no hits!

Ah, that Kojima man! I totally forgot his name. I'm sorry.
I will keep on searching other birthdays too.

Mitsuhisa Kojima really exists in Japan but he's really Japanese local driver so I really wonder how you knew him! I think if you google his name in Japanese you can find his name.
