This gent was known as Archie Frazer Nash, and whilst the cars remained Frazer Nash, with no hiphen, he changed his own surname to Frazer-Nash. This is recorded in many books, from which Wikipedia no doubt got their information - From Chain-Drive to Supercharger by Denis Jenkinson, for example, says he changed his name by deed poll in 1938. Perhaps the clerk registering his death made a mistake...So it is quite possible that, like me, Archibald G F Nash was known by his third name, Fraser. However, he didn't actually change his name - as Wikipedia claims - from "Fraser Nash" to "Fraser-Nash" as he is clearly shown in the England & Wales Register of Deaths under 'N', not under 'F'.

The family name of Frazer Nash was unhyphenated, but to avoid confusion my mother adopted it as a hyphenated name somewhere about 1905, which I did also, but used the name Nash alone with cars and commerce. For example, the original G.N. of course stood for Godfrey and Nash. After the 1914-18 war, I re-adopted the hyphen for myself but did not use it on the car. Some confusion arose over this in connection with foreign patents, and I finally legalised it by deed poll sometime before the 1939 war – I am not sure of the exact date, but it will be at Somerset House.

NOTICE is hereby given that by a deed poll dated the twenty-eighth day of January 1938 and duly enrolled in the Supreme Court of Judicature on the eleventh day of February 1938 I, ARCHIBALD GOODMAN FRAZER-NASH of "Ardua" 84, Kingston Hill in the county of Surrey Engineer a natural-born British subject renounced and abandoned the first name of Frazer and assumed the surname of Frazer in addition to the surname of Nash as from the 15th day of January, 1937.—Dated the 11th day of February 1938.
A. G. FRAZER-NASH, formerly known as A. G. Frazer Nash.
All changes of name by deed poll had to be listed in the London Gazette.

... he is clearly shown in the England & Wales Register of Deaths under 'N', not under 'F'.
I'm afraid you are mistaken - he appears under both NASH and FRAZER-NASH, this being the normal procedure for double-barrelled names.
Similarly, the birth registration in 1930 for a famous steerer of boats appears as both JONES and ARMSTRONG-JONES.

Thanks, Jim!
First part of those whose birthdays I'm still looking for (with the info I have so far in brackets):
Hannelore Werner (1941?42?)
According to her Facebook page, Hannelore Werner Hennerici was born on the 17th January 1942.
Reinhard, maybe it's time for a new looking for birthdates thread and see if there's anything we can do.

Bill Urquhart-Dykes died before April 9th 1981. That is the death date of his widow, whose home was in Cobham, Surrey.
His father, William Alston Dykes, an officer in the Cameronians, seems to have hailed originally from Hamilton in Scotland, but there also seems to be an Irish connection, as both Bill's mother and wife were from Dundalk. Assuming Bill was born the right side of the blanket, then his dob is after December 3rd 1896, which is when his parents married in Dundalk.
Edit: I think I've found him! But apparently on the wrong side of the blanket - August 13th 1896 in Hamilton.
The caveat is of course that this could be a younger brother of Bill's father - the Times birth announcement (17/8/1896) is unclear and says that the father of the infant was William Dykes of London. OTOH, the father of the December groom is described as William Alston Dykes of Hamilton.
William Urquhart Dykes was born on 04 September 1897 (source) in Ranikhet, Uttaranchal, India (source).
His obituary appeared in the April 1979 issue of "MotorSport". (Link)
It seems Urquhart was not part of his surname but his middle name. So it should be spelled Bill Urquhart Dykes instead of Urquhart-Dykes, shouldn't it?

Thank you, Narcís! (Do you know whether César Apezteguía is still alive?)
Adam, Ken & Richie – the three of you can be trusted!
Why don’t you just post everything you have and save myself the trouble of asking?
It’s a pity that Jimmy Piget obviously left us some time since last August.
He should have been able to help with the French ones.
Unfortunately in most other countries nobody seems to care.
But nevertheless I’m encouraged to put up the next bunch of names (letters C – F).
