First off, I'm new here, so I just want to say hello to one and all, and thank everyone for countless hours of infotainment.

I am a huge F1 fan who would love to see Mazda (Ford!!! - Are they going to swallow the entire industry???) get into F1 with the Wankel. Four rotor monsters!

Anyway, the reason I posted I 'cos I'm looking for a track map of Imola--and all the others--with corner names, like GPL does for the old tracks.

I prepare for each race by doing laps on F1RS, and would love to know the names of the corners, especially since one of the worst moments in motorsports history happened at this track.

Senna R.I.P.

See you on the grid,

Welcome P1 Pyrosol, sorry to burst your bubble but Wankel motors are banned in F1.

Starting line, Tamburello (now a chicane), Villenueve, Tosa, Piratella, Acque Minerali (my favorite spot, after the Tosa got dull because of the previous chicane), Variante Alta (chicane) Rivazza, Variante Bassa (other chicane), Finish line.

Been there 8 times!!!

Ellen UK,

I have not seen the Senna footage from Imola. What happened to him in Tamburello? In which direction did he go off? Did it happen under acceleration or braking?

I don't mean to stir unpleasant memories, but with the GP upcoming I'd like to be better informed.

Ellen UK, some friends of mine are going to Imola next weekend. they are shooting for general admission at Rivazza. can you comment, based on your experience, that this is a wise agenda? are you familiar with the hill at this point on the track? how early will they need to get there?

Senna lost control in the Tamburello curve, which is flat out, after (apparently) a steering arm detached and struck his helmet.

Senna did decelerate on his trip to the wall, but unfortunately died....

The crash speed was I think 190mph down to 130mph.

doohanOK.

P1,

You won't be able to see the turn where Senna actually went off; they've inserted a left, right, left there instead, to reduce speed.
