I have just heard a bizarre news story on one the radio which I am assuming is an April Fool gag. here goes:

Eddie Jordan has another 25% of Jordan GP and is stepping down from daily control and Jackie Stewart will taking over. Jordan is stepping down in the short term to concentrate on his investment in Coventry FC, "a boyhood dream!!". He will return to an active role in F1 at the end of this season as Bernie Ecclestone's successor!!

All a bit far fetched i think but particularly the part about Stewart running Jordan. Jordan GP is all about fun, Page 3 birds getting their tits out in the cars, tobacco money, rock'n'roll parties at the British GP etc - does not really fit with JS and his high moral ground. Anybody else heard any good F1 April Fool gags - if you haven't make them up!!

hmm, another good joke...

Schumacher and Hakkinen will become teammates, they will drive for Arrows next year.
With Villeneuve as the test driver.
Mazaccane has signed a 5year contract with Ferrari, and Verstappen will go to Mclaren for 4 years.
Jenson Button decided to retire, he's getting too old!!!

;)

AVTOVAZ-Lada has just announced they're buying out the Arrows team and will be using Russian tractor engines in next year's model.

In an effort to boost interest in the U.S. F1 race Bernie has announced that the NASCAR event, the Brickyard 400 will be held on the same day as the F1 race.

It should be pretty exciting said Bernie, the stock cars will use the oval anf the F1 cars will use the inner road course and share the front stretch with the stock cars.

I'm sure that they'll all be able to avoid each other Bernie said (well yea, all except that black #3 :) ) as he and Tony George went back to his room for a nightcap.

FordPrefect,

Knowing how Bernie opperates, that combine NASCAR and F1 race could be true. It sure would be crash intensive.

Here's a good one: two races into the season, McLaren hasn't scored a single point, five of the top six cars were found to be illegal in the second race, one of Adrian Newey's car is being disqualified because an aerodynamic part was set wrong, Michael Schumacher forgot the trophy for his Brazil win on the podium at the track, Jenson Button out-qualified Ralph Schumacher, and the FIA are actually going to enforce the rules against traction control. ! Ha ha ! April Fool's !
