You may want to have another look at your team. I think the maximum points on offer are 13175. Your $7m overspend will result in a penalty of 15036 so your best possible score is negative 1861. this is based on your drivers always finishing 1,2,3 and your engine/chassis always finishing 1,2.

I think you have missed the 4th point under the heading of scoring!

garth_b, just for clarification, what does "For each race lap completed points out of 100 will be awarded to each driver" mean exactly? Does it mean 100 points if my driver drives the full distance, but only gets 75 points if he drives 45 laps out of 60 for instance?

I also wonder if the scoring system is the same as last year, I tried to match this system with last year's results, and I just ended up scratching my head a lot... Thanks in advance, I'll work out an entry that will be a real smarty-beater!

The fourth sentence of the rules states: You can enter as many times as you like but all entries must be in before first practise for Melbourne.

So go for it. This is an amateur competition, no prizes just the right to call yourself champion for the following year. Designed for the timid and not so timid to have a go at one of these before they hit the serious leagues with the falshy pages etc.

Yes you get 100 points for completing all race laps 75 for 45 out of 60 etc. Really just a percentage. The points are halved for the engine and chassis because you have 2 opportunities to score points. I did this so that the number of points on offer for each race were the same. Given all races take place there are 13175 points on offer for the season. Also note that there are penalties for failing to be classified this year so putting a premium on reliability.
