Yes the Mazdas won.
24 hours would be unbelievable.
I wonder, would they be allowed to fit Roo bars at dusk and dawn?
There's a big difference in reliability between 24 hours and 12. Also brakes and fuel consumption become more significant issues.
It would be the greatest.

• In recent races there wallabies have crossed the track in front of cars; no accidents though. But at dusk the roos come out, and heaps of insects as well I'd bet; they'd have to put insect screens on the cars. After a while the roos dissappear, and the insects quieten down.
Would a GP work? It would have back when the 'Ring was legal. It resembles a mini 'Ring. There are some curvy bits, some tight, and for F1, I think they would say its somewhat unsafe. There's also a very very long straight. It 6.2km long I think. Aussies reckon its the best track in the world. Where Philip Island outside of Melbourne is a good bike track, Bathurst in New South Wales a few hours from Sydney is the best car track in the world, as long as one doesn't get caught up in details, like safety and such.
Sometimes things get a bit hecktick.

The start

The Bathurst 1000 has been telecast in the UK since the mid 1980s at least. Many British drivers have raced it, a couple even won. John Cleland came within five seconds of the win last year. Both John Fitzpatrick and Win Percy are on the honour role. Steve Soper won in 1987 but was later disqualified. Rickard Rydell has won it, also Jacky Ickx, Rauno Aaltonen, David & Geoff Brabham. Podium finishers include Frank Biela, Klaus Niedzwiedz, Derek Bell, Yoshimi Katayama, Matt Neal, Jean-Francois Hemroulle, Klaus Ludwig (later disqualified), Tom Walkinshaw, Roberto Ravaglia, Johnny Cecotto, Pierre Dieudonne (later disqualified) and recent visistors include, Alain Menu, Jason Plato, Tommy Kendall, Yvan Muller, Tim Harvey, Paul Radisich, Joachim Winkelhock, Derek Warwick, Scott Pruett, Anders Olofsson, Andy Rouse, Altfrid Heger, Emanuelle Pirro, Gianfranco Brancatelli, Roland Ratzenberger, Masahiro Hasemi, Olivier Grouillard, Akihiko Nakaya, even Satoru Nakajima has raced it. Denny Hulme died there, Alan Jones extends his career another year each year by driving it.
