Some time ago I'm sure I remember reading something about a new Rally racing game coming out for the PS2 that made use of the Gran Turismo 3 gaming engine/interface/etc.
Does anybody else know anything about this? The GT3 rallying is more or less my favourite part of the game, and I'm real keen to find out what, if anything, is happening with this.
Thanks

Having played the GT3 rally section, and WRC for PS2 I would have to say that you would be much better off getting WRC cos the engine is much better than the one used in GT3.
IMHO circuits/stages terrain cars damage detail everything really
don;t get me wrong unlike some on this forum I really like(d) playing GT3 but as for the rally forget it.
you could always wait for the new Colin Mcrae, personally I'll rent it and compare
As for you actual question, I don't know of any development, however wit hthe games above I would imagine that that alone would halt development using a GT3 engine

I'm not 100% on this but I think it is WRC (the one philhitchings talks about) that uses the same graphics engine as GT3, not the phisics or anything like that. If you want a good rally game for PS2 then get WRC.

I'm with the others on this, WRC is really good, ohh D, the driving force works a treat on the game. Only drawbacks are: can't use manual gears, can't reconfigure the buttons. Quite frankly, evolution studios could have incorporated the wheel much better, but believe me, your times will definitely drop compared to the dualshock, in particular the gravel and snow stages.
