Pizzonia looks good. We'll see how strong he is mentally when the going gets tough as it will, sooner or later. :)

I'm really happy there are plenty of Aussies having success in international motorsport at the moment. All the Australians here know we need an Aussie in F1.

Its been a good year for Aussies so far - Webber third on debut in F3000, Courtney winning the British FFord round, Pavecivic on pole for Italian F3000, and Jason Bright on pole for Indylights. Marcos Ambrose is in a works Mygale in the French F3 series and is yet to race. Things are looking good for the future.

Ooops almost forgot Garry McCoy - Stunning season so far in bikes. No word on whether David Besnard is due to race this year, I think he is struggling for the sponsorship AGAIN damn it...

I also heard on the grapevine at the Adelaide 500 to expect an announcement about Jason Brights career at the Long Beach Champ car race.

Own up! We all know you only posted this because James Courtney won and Webber got a podium. This is an "all the aussies are the best" baiting thread ;)

Dixon will kick ass. Go Kiwi!!!!!!!!

That is mighty impressive from Bright though, especially after spending time in V8s. I would love to see Dixon in a CART race sometime soon.

The latest issue of OnTrack (with Total Control cover) came today. It has the results of the F3000 race at Imola included. Does anyone know the story about Christijan Albers? It says he retired at lap 24 because of a drink bottle!

XedtheLine - Albers drink bottle aparently exploded as he put it on lap 24, so every time he braked he was getting splashed in the visor, blinding him at some corners, which is why he ended up going straight off.

The big surprise there is Bright... he only just managed to get a drive and now he is third onthe grid, that's a hell of an effort. Who is his team mate though? I'd like to know where he qualified.

Daemon..thanx for the info! Hard to believe with all the innovation associated with motorsport these days, water bottle technology hasn't been perfected yet.

So he outqualified his team mates, that's fairly good going. Well done to him... even if he did drive a Ford and has an undeserved Bathurst win.

Hoffy,

It's true, HRT had the race shot to bits before the spate of flat tyres. Before you say the same thing happened to Radisich last year... the tyre went flat because he hit someone....plus the engine spilled it's guts all over conrod anyway in the fine tradition of Ford engines..... ala the greatest race ever... the might Perkins from first to last in 95 after Seton's mill dropped a cylinder or three(again). :)

The golden rule. To win you, must first finish!

And as far as Radisich is concerned, it was a damaged radiator that forced his retirment(or hose, i cant remember), which is a non brand specific item. (ie, they all come from the same factory any way)
