Hi again,
Today's the dificult answers day...
Try to remember 1984. There was a CART team called Tom Hess Racing.
Does anybody know anything about it?
As I've said, it's the day...;)

Since I had no answers to this one, I'll try to find the driver's name.

Dick Ferguson DNQ'd for them in the no.31 Eagle 83 (apparently ex-Dick Simon) for most of 1984.
Ferguson's Indy record was no great shakes, 1 successful qualification attempt in about 8 goes, and I think he ended it with a broken leg (someone else's accident).

My GPI no. 78 gives the Long Beach chassis number 83-05, plus a photo of a half-assembled Eagle; it was white, if that's any help!
Dick was faster than Johnny Parsons Junior and 'Flyin'' Phil Caliva - in the case of the latter, however, that was not a major achievement...

More entries for Tom Hess Racing:
1985-04-14 GP of Long Beach, Dick Ferguson, #27 Lola/Cosworth T800, 25th
1985-05-26 Indy 500, Derek Daly, #29 Lola/Cosworth T900, 12th
1985-07-07 Cleveland GP, Jeff Wood, #27 Lola/Cosworth T900, 23th
1985-11-09 Miami Indy Challenge 200, Ian Ashley, #27 Lola/Cosworth T900, 18th
The Jeff Wood appearance was apparently sponsored by Colin Bennett of CoBRa fame, so maybe that's a lead!?

He also entered Ashley as no. 29 in 1986, in a Lola of that year's vintage. Don't think they turned up. Daly's car for Indy 1985 was chassis number T900-18, as per Hungness. Sponsored by Kapsreiter Beer and done in red and yellow.
