thanks to F1Mike from the ITV board for this one :)

Motors tv tesing on 11.527 v 27.500 2/3
Launch Feb 28th, 6am
If you have Sky,you can get a sneak preview of the channel new to the uk launching on Sky Digital.
It will have loads of recent motorsport and a lot of older race footage.Touring cars,F1 and other open wheel series,NASCAR,bikes, rallying, karting, jet skis ..... it goes on and on...

It will also include motoring shows giving an alternative to Top Gear,Motorweek, and Driven.

I will be addicted to this channel especially as it will have F1 doccumentaries of legends of the sport.

I can't wait!

If you want to see the preview trailors now running, you can tune in the test manually,by doing the following:
1)services
2)system setup
3)add channels
4)enter the frequency info:
Frequency - 11.527
Polarisation - V
Symbol Rate - 27.5
FEC - 2/3

5)select 'find channels'
6)highlight M TV and press yellow to tick, then select
7)'channel line-up complete' will be displayed
8)at any time, press services and select 'other channels' to access the channel

looks ok from some of the trailers :)
im sure some SKY viewers will be interested in this channel

Just to get all these shows SKY are adding NOW
Good thing my adoring wife told me 'NO FRICKIN WAY'

Clever Johnny's these Sky boffins

SOME BAD NEWS NOW....
My contact at British Eurosport just told me they have rejected the Live or Same day coverage of CART

YUCK

Lets just hope ole Channel 5 does the day after replay....

I assume this is a result of Sky getting Bernie Vision? [ie, it'll be the channel they do the ppv on?]

MrA: From my knowledge of Boxing Fights on SKy, they will be showing the F1 on Sky Box office over a number of channels. Not on this one motor SPort channel.

not having sky I was just making an uneducated guess :) Not knowing the technical workings of Sky's system, it just seemed a logical place to have it!

I have to say Sky are making it very difficult for me to resist getting a dish (well, once I live somewhere where its a possibility, ie not at uni!) despite my desire to avoil the evil empire!

Maybe because SKY, FOX, and SpeedChannel are all part of NewsCorp.

CART,
Exactly. I`ve had the channel since it launched at the end of 2000, and it is basically a Euro version of speed channel / speedvision. It`s strange in a way, because they only change their programme content usually once every 2 / 4 weeks.
This month they are showing a 1989 Renualt F1 doc on how they worked with Williams during that season (2 mini-docu features of Boutsen & Patrese).
This programme is now on every day for the next 26 days..........until the programme schedule changes.

It`s a good channel, but only worth watching once every 4 weeks. They need more content.

So far F1-wise they`ve shown.....

The whole of the "saga F1" series.
1979 F1 season review
1980 F1 season review
Monthly F1 magazine show called "zone F1" - this has since continued through the winter......and will also be on every month in 2002
In early Feb they launched a new series called "legends". This month ewas the first episode, and was the renault feature that i mentioned above. The March edition will also be for an hour and will focus on Ligier.

They simply buy all their material from other tv stations around the world....
They show the Oz touring car championship coverage from channel 10
They show the AMA superbike series from the Speedvision coverage
.........and just about all the F1 material that they`ve shown in 18 months has come from the French AFAVA F1 film company (Arthur & Alain Boisnard)

The satellites that provide the german digital are still in the same place as the analogue ones,so you would have to move the dish.Possibly cheaper to find some second hand analogue equipment.
