According to formula1.com (who stole the news from F1 Magazine) Honda is spending $210 million a year!!!
WOW!
DaimlerChrysler and Ford is spending the same amount. DaimlerChrysler is only supplying an engine though!
Are there any kind souls who could post the full list?

They take a poorly designed engine in development for three years, scrap it for the new version and start from scratch again? What kind of engineering is that? They should have developed in full their other engine and put this new one in development for two years; scrap the idea of supplying two cars; buy out BAR and run a Honda team.
Interestingly, Renault and Toyota have smaller budgets and they may end up ahead of BAR and Jordan.
BMW, in comparison, must have rocket scientists working for them because they clearly have the quickest engine on the grid.

"He went on to concede that the Honda engine is also a major problem, though. Before pre-season testing every Honda driver promised major results from the new engine, but have since been forced to revise their opinions. So while Honda is pointing the finger at the aerodynamic side of the BAR 004, it knows it has plenty to do. "Of course we cannot say a great deal about the car, as we have our own problems," he continued. "
At any rate, I rest my case about their engine plans.

You know the cigarette brand, WEST? The brand plastered all over the McLaren? Well, it's owned by a company called Reetsma.
BTW, I think all the figures are bogus.

Eddie Irvine, and Jaques Vill, both made over 120million (in swedish crowns). Ralf Schumacher was said to earn 125million, and Montoya 35... ouch. (Are they crazy?)
Some others where Micheal Schumacher, with 300 (ok, he is worth it i guess), DC and Raikonnen both earns 85million / year. Mika Salo did have a big salery too...
Are they worth it?.. well, EI, and JV isnt right now.. i think those teams should spend some more money on the cars instead, and Montoya and Ralf should get at least equal money i think.
well well, i dont think this article is 100% true anyway, but it made me think that some teams are crazy.

I think it just shows the quality of the research F1 Magazine does....Originally posted by Keelan
So, Red Bull doesn't even qualify for the list? Probably because they contribute to two teams.

Toyota, rates high with the least relaince (I don't count Arrows because while they dont have a huge reliance, they are too lwo on the grid).
Sauber, if they finish fourth, is the genius team in terms of spending.
Eventually Toyota will surprise, making their investment look good, about $8 M more than Williams but a forst year team with promise.
BAR looks ridiculous and I think given all the money they piss away, I'm sending in my resume to them so I can help them design a new motorhome.
Sauber gets the best bang for the buck, IMO.
Ferrari scare me - the marlboro money is huge - where will they replace that????
Interesting, though, the top 6 contributors are the car manufacturers, with 9th being Fiat - no wonder they want more money from the F1 feedbag.

It probably does not qualify in TOP 20 of the sponsors. You can see that teams they sponsor are at the bottom of the list. Red Bull simply doesn't contribute that much...
Sauber - 55mln in direct cash
Arrows - 31 mln in direct cash[
Red Bull is not a title sponsor for either of them. Let's say they pay 10 mln to Sauber and 15 mln to Arrows, its still not enough to be in sponsors Top20

Marlboro - $87
Vodafone - $41
one could think Ferrari collects 128 mln from both of above, yes?
well... F1 magazine from February p.15 says:
"
Vodafone's new spsorship deal brokered by Philip Morris, the Marlboro brand owner, is said to be worth some $40-$50 million a year, altough most of that flows to Philip Morris rather than Ferrari. PM is believed to pay well over $85 million a year to be title sponsor, but also gets rights to sell space on the car it does not use."
I just don't get it. How much Ferrari depends on tobacco then, 80mln or 40 mln?
