Sommer's Ferrari at Monaco most probably was light blue. I try to confirm this by colored photos since 2 years now, but could not find any. This picture shows it's clearly much brighter than the red Alfas in the background

The same car he drove at Pau earlier that year, and the colour also is very bright.

The only solution for such a bright livery would be a light blue, but contrary to this his 1950 Ferrari was a works car entered by the Scuderia, and not personally owded by Sommer. Most probably one of the very rare occasions of non-red works Ferraris.

For Peter Whitehead the case is the other way round. His tipo 125 # 10C was privately owned, although sometimes entered by the Scuderia (full service contract). Nevertheless this car was red!

Here at the Silverstone Daily Express International Trophy 1950.
His new Ferrari in 1951 then was BRG.

But also much brighter (lighter) than the Talbot, which should also be blue (unless, of course, this is one the yellow Tabbots)

Well the picture is clearly the shunt on lap 1, so that is the point where Sommer briefly took second place - the Talbot behind must be Chiron, so it's blue ...

Also visible between the Alfas is what looks like Rosier's Talbot - looks pretty much the same colour as Sommer's car.
