The father of Swiss collector Carlo Voegele, Charles Voegele, died
Sunday 21 April 2002 aged 79 in his swimming pool due to a heart attack. The
funeral will be on Friday 26 April 2002. Charles Voegele not only founded
a huge fashion store emporium in Switzerland but also won more than 200
automobile races in Europe (many in Lotus), hillclimbs and airfield races as
well as club races in the 1960s. He was also a strong financial supporter of
the late Joseph Siffert.

to confirm this notice.
Today I found, in an Italian Swiss newspaper, the notice from death over the weekend of Charles Voegele. Charles Voegele has abandoned his race carrier abruptly on 1968, and I was never able to find out the reason. Hi was born on 12th mars 1923.
The notice says hi was the first driver leading in a race with a Lotus. I don’t have al fact’s about his racing cars, but aim sure hi raced also long-distance races with Les Leston on a Lotus Elite.
My contact was 1967 – 1968 with his racing team trough Silvio Moser.

My memory says he drove a Repco-Brabham FPF Climax in hillclimbs... is that right?

The Brabham at the bottom is a BT11A, supplied new to Charles Vögele in 1964 for European hillclimbing. It later went to Argentina where it was apparently fitted with the inevitable Chevy V8 engine. It returned to the UK only a couple of years ago and, after restoration to original, won a couple of races last year

Yes Voegele most race on hillclimbs races, hi was also the first owner from the Brabham BT06 – 17 in 1963. For winning the Swiss title for Formula cars he need to cut points on other competitors, the winner in al categories (junior, F2 ecc.) teak the same points. For this reason on 09.22.1963 Silvio Moser wins the class on the Mittelholz – Kandersteg hill race. Jo Siffert on 09.29.1963 4th overall, 2nd class (first class Silvio Moser with his owned Lotus 20) in Schauinsland (D) national. And last Silvio Moser in Monza (I) Swiss national on 10.13.1963 dnf.
This BT06 – 17 is, now property from Silvio Moser, the winning car in Temporada Argentina 1964.
In Switzerland match people tells he win only for his money, I think for make his results (also international races) needs a good driver and the system to teak points in other classes was used by others, same wear make also sabotage on cars for this.

Having looked at the other pics taken by this photographer it points to Ollon Villars (1962) or St Ursanne-Les Rangiers (1965).

 

Ollon Villars seems too early for the car. Voegele (or Vögele) seems to have parted with the car by August 22, 1965.

I did a dossier on Vogele's first Brabham recently, but I'm not sure whether this is his first or his second.  He had a BT4 in 1963, then a BT11A in 1964.  The BT4 was sold to Gérard Pillon (Genève, Switzerland) in 1965.  I think the car in the colour picture is the BT11A.

 

Dieter Bohnhorst's Brabham was a F3 BT16.  Completely different car.

I think ... the #83 and the #264 with the flatter front bodywork are both the BT11A.  The BT4 was a little rounder and the bodywork rose up at the cockpit.

Yes, it is the BT11A. So the Picture must have been taken between Augist 1965 and April 1967. I don't think it's a Swiss Event, certainly not Les Rangiers.
