No, I don't recall John Taylor driving rallycars. John did drive sportscars though.
I was talking about Henry Taylor. His rally achievments were possibly even greater than his circuit list of honour.
In 1962 Henry Taylor finished 6th overall in the RAC ! In the Acropolis he was 2nd in his class and 10th overall.
In 1963 he was 3rd on the Alpine , 4th in the Acropolis, 4th in the Marathon de la Route, 6th again on the RAC.
He finished 5th on the Tulip Rally in '64 and won at Prescott.
He also drove several times in the Monte Carlo but wasn't succesfull there.
He also raced a Lotus Cortina in the European Touring Car Championship in '64 taking 2nd in Zolder, Brands Hatch & Karlskoga.

It was taken during the 1966 (I thnk) Bahamas speed week. She drove the Mustang in the TT. The man with her is her husband David Matthews who drove Minis in club racing.

OT question: one of mentioned Taylors is supposed to be only human being outside Royal family ever to appear on an UK stamp while still alive (there is a rule that only people who passed away can be shown there). Which one? Why?
A shot in the dark: if living people are not allowed on British stamps, it must be a picture in which the 'person' is merely incidental. Maybe they have issued a series of famous paintings, and one of them was Warhol's Elizabeth Taylor?
Back on thread, or rather onto the much more interesting thread of women drivers, why can I find no mention anywhere in TNF of the wonderful Christabel Carlisle?

Good trying - and you are right, this person is really 'incidental' on stamp.Originally posted by pedro

ah, anyway, too OT for this forum, so I won't hesitate with answer: it is Roger Taylor, Queen drummer. A stamp is issued a few years ago in memory of Freddie Mercury and picture chosen for it shows him during a concert, with Roger clearly visible in background. I don't collect stamps and I never saw this one but had read about it and story still amuses me...

Ghinzani, that was Alan Taylor. Tommy played at centre back for the Irons/Hammers.
