I respect RedFever's concern, but at the same time I think it's an overreaction from his point. As a long time member of Atlas, he should be more aware of the standards Atlas has put upon itself and the firm guidance by Bira who's one of the most important factors in keeping these standards on a high level.
Perhaps the following quote is not ~factual~ enough for some people, and too much whool around the issue. (With the danger of overquoting the article) For me, it adds exactly the atmosphere under which she makes her judgement on the issue itself. :
He is, after all, the favoured son at Ferrari, and it is unthinkable that he would be sacked for disobeying an order many felt should not be made. He mumbled something about not having time to think, which just got him into deeper water, as this is the guy who can make shopping lists while carving his way through the traffic at over 180 mph.
It's perhaps a matter of taste, but I enjoyed her article very much. She's a pleasant read, a VERY pleasant read. And yes, she does have a different writing style than the cold analystic view on F1. So what?
You can argue if her writing style suits you, I would argue that some people here are perhaps too prejudiced on her capabillities. IMHO, I think she's an excellent addition to the Atlas magazine, provided that she does indeed not wonder off into the details of Schumacher's flowering habbits, but I am ABSOLUTELY convinced that the Atlas standards are the final word in these, and that Bira knew who she contracted for which purpose.
I liked her article very much. Call me shallow for that, fine, but I hope (and think) the Nottage bashers will be proven wrong with every upcoming Atlas magazine.
