Anyone noticed that wherever Gary Anderson goes the car suddenly becomes uncompetitve?
Last year's Stewart(by Alan Jenkins) is so much better than the R1 and look at what happened to Jordan when he left in 98 !! His Tyrells sucked as well so this is someone that F1 definately does not need, someone that can convert a mid-pack team into a no-hoper. Personally, I think Jaguar should've used this year as a transitional year ,using a modified SF3 and hired Mike Gascoyne instead!

Gary Anderson(Jaguar designer) should leave F1

I wouldn't totally agree. he had a lot of input on last years stewart and it did well. However, judging by the Jordan situation you have a point. As soon as he left Jordan they started performing. One of EJ's reasons for them parting company was that Anderson was too hands on.

Well the first Jordan did not only look great, it was also a fantastic car! And it was all Andersons work!
IIRC Eddie split with him mainly because he wouldn't delegate. And the current demise of the Jaguars is probably more cause by engines than the chassis.

Or they miss traction control... The decline in performance is such that it can not be attributed solely to engine/chassis

miniman, you realy think Stewart was the cheating team last year ?? At first thought, I thought it was Williams, but now looking at how well they've done this year, I'm beginning to agree with you.................

I think their demise is more due to chassis. Last year they got the chassis right, so congrats to them. But this year they chose to build a completely new car, a McLaren clone if you will, and not create a development of the 99 car. They missed with their design this year, and they're paying for it.
