Here is some of Murray's contributions to the 2000 season:

"It's lap 26 of 58, which unless I'm very much mistaken is half way"

"BMW who are entriely new to F1... since they left it so long ago."

"Two McLarens on the first row of the grid, two Ferarri's on the first row of the grid..."

Melbourne 2000 - Murray on M Schumacher's fight for championship glory with Ferrari: "...and it's something he's been trying to achieve since he left Benetton in 1958!"

Blown it for Irvine!!!.......I don't know what happened, but there was a major malmisorganization problem there!!!"

"..and Micheal Schumacher is leading Micheal Schumacher"

A good example of the famous Murray Walker kiss of death (from Brazil 2000):
Murray : "McLaren - if they can keep going of course - are going to close up on Ferarri in the Constructors Championship, a bit, becuase....."
Martin : "Problem!"
Murray : "Into the pitlane comes the race leader Mika Hakkinen." (to retire).
From the British Grand Prix 2000:
Jim R.: "[It's over to] the big Easter Bunny of Formula 1, Murray Walker."
Murray: "I don't know about the big Easter Bunny, Jim. I used to go to the Bunny Club in Park Lane quite a lot, but my wife's watching the programme so enough of that!"

Posted Image Yeah Murray is still the same as ever, but as I mentioned in another thread I watched Suzuka 1996 again yesterday, and Jonathan Palmer made Murray look like a complete expert. Thank God for Martin Brundle Posted Image

I think Murray does some of his classic Murrayisms on purpose now to get a laugh; i've heard him say a couple of times now 'you really can cut the atmosphere with a cricket stump' or 'i'll interrupt myself when David Coulthard comes out onto the podium' Posted Image

I think he's great, he's one of my real F1 heroes

Don't forget " and Jenson Button is driving like the veteran that he isn't."

Long live Murray

Martin often makes some really funny comments as well, he's learning from the great man. My fave was "And we'll be right back after these retail opportunities"

You guys may have already seen this, but someone (perhaps an Atlas member) has put up a page full of wav files with Murray Walker quotes. Some are just priceless, especially from the '97 season (listen to the one called "andand.wav" to hear him go into hyper mode). My poor wife has no idea why I get so amused by them.

Anyway, here's the link:

Martin has always had a good sense of humour. My favourite quote of his was when told of something clearly wrong that Michael Schumacher said he replied with "Just because he's shoe-maker doesn't give him the right to talk cobblers"

Bit of a UK expression but priceless. And his sarcasm almost every break is good too.

Cool site! I just listened to a bunch of those. You are so lucky to have Murray and Martin. Those two are characters. 100x better than speedvision.

Lucky to have Martin Brundle??????? Yeah the guys knows his stuff, and unlike Murray can tell a Ferrari from a Minardi and Hakkinen from Alesi, but he has the enthusiasm of stunned mullett...

Great Post. Here is the leader Mika Hakkinen ....... with the McLaren's DAVID painted on its side in large letters shown on the screen for ages.
ATTACK!! ATTACK!! ATTACK!! when Mika started to gain on MS.
There was also something about Ralf being admired not because he is a brilliant driver which he is but because he is the brother of a brilliant driver.
I know there were previous postings of Murrays which sent me into hysterics, and I wonder if you guys will post more here, please.

There seems to be some trick to downloading the Murray wavs. I keep on getting destination unknown message on my monitor. I can therefore only read some of the quotes, which are funny anyway. Can anyone help me here?

During the British GP an Arrows came into the pits for refuelling and Brundle says "They must be putting vitamin C in that Arrows". Referring to their colour and sponsor. Murray gives an almost mocking "ha ha" in reply.
It gave me a chuckle.

Arnaldo:

I think a few of the links are dead, especially on some of the older clips. But they should be there for the most part.

You might also want to make sure you've got the latest windows media player -- I think sometimes the older versions don't work. You should be able to download it for free from microsoft.

I think if Murray was never in F1, I'd never watch it, I think he's marvellous.

Ok so the guy brings enthusiasm to the commentary box but if he says 'you can see visually' one more time I think I'm going to scream!

Murray's so stupid that he's confused lap times going down with meaning the cars are going slower. He's made that mistake a few times. Nice man, though.

Gotta love Alan Jones commentating:

"I know exactly what he's thinking 'I'm not letting that arrogant Kraut through'"
