first, Hello.
second, i just lucked into some semi-free tickets to the montreal grand prix. they are in grandstand 31 and i am dying to see what the view is like from there. i have been to the track before, and have seen plenty of track layouts, but never from the area around 31. can you see much? if anyone has photos, or knows where i can find a few it would be greatly appreciated!!!
thanks.

I've spectated at nearly every corner of Montreal. The view from section 31 is just "ok". But just being at the GP is an amazing experience and considering the tickets are free, they're great
.
The cars do have to slow for the chicane, but are quickly on their way again. It's not a typical passing zone, so you won't likely see many (any) passes for position. Although in past years some accidents have happened in the area leading up to that chicane, and occasionally someone will totally jump the chicane and do a bit of agricultural work.

thanks guys. i had been to the grandprix site before, but was really hoping for a sneak preview of what my view might be like. i have seen film of an older f1 incident right under the bridge there, pretty big one. you will have to excuse my lack of knowledge having just caught the f1 bug this last year. i have a lot of catching up to do!

I agree with random that it's being there, not just what you can see. What you'll hear is the cars coming down the straight towards you, then launching on the next straight when they're leaving you, as well as hearing them all around the circuit. This year there were more video screens, not that you go there to watch tv but they help tracking what's going on.
