I have an address for one of the Lato Di Priolo brothers in Milan, but no response to 3 letters. What I have is:
Scuderia Ambrosiana
Massimo Lato Di Priolo
Via Ciovasso 11
20100 Milan
Italy
Anyone have another address, a phone number or an e-mail, and know if he speaks English??
Thanks,
Stu

David:
I found the spelling as LATO on a web site, so that's the spelling I used.
As far as I am aware, you are absolutely correct; it is Leto. I also thought the "D" in Di (or di) should be lower case, but it's upper case in the address I found....it was an ITALIAN site too!!
I don't see why this would upset him, however...maybe he doesn't read English...and he has to be in his 80s or even his 90s...
A guy I know, Don Zoltan Veta, imported two 1900s (a Touring 3rd series and a Zagato) from Suderia Ambrosiana to the US circa 1958. He sold the touring a LONG time ago, and the Zagato was for a friend. I have asked him for years to try and find the import papers or at least the serial numbers so I can give a copy of them to Peter Marshall (Alfa 1900/6c2500 register) but Don Veta has never bothered to do so..
Thanks,
Stu

Well, I just got an e-mail. It's Massimo's SON that is the vice-president of the bank. His father is 81, and, as far as I am aware, the last living member of the Scuderia. The father is will to help, and DOES have a fairly substantial archive...even better, he is willing to help without me having to go to Italy and REALLY learn the language.
If this pans out, I WILL be doing the book!!
