Apropos of not very much - has anyone got any further details on the early amateur racing driver Baron de Forest??? For starters:
ARNOLD MAURICE DEFOREST – ‘BARON DE FOREST’
ADOPTED SON OF DE HERSCH WHO BANKROLLED THE ORIENT EXPRESS???
DE FOREST'S SON JOHN BENDERN – BRITISH AMATEUR GOLF CHAMPION (ALLEGEDLY)
AFTER WW1 DE FOREST MOVED TO LIECHTENSTEIN AND BECAME COUNT BENDERN OR COUNT DE BENDERN
EDUCATED AT ETON – SPELLED HIS NAME ‘DEFOREST’ IT WOULD APPEAR…
HAD CASTLES IN LIECHTENSTEIN, SWITZERLAND AND SOMEWHERE ELSE – ALLEGEDLY "KEPT MICE" IN ONE OF THEM.
DIED IN 1968 – BORN ABOUT 1876-ISH IT SEEMS????
Thoughts?

Doug, do you know that Louis T Stanley is an authority on golf?
A good player in his day and an author of several books on the great game.
Depending on how you two get along, he (Louis T) would probably be able to tell you whether
the claimof the Baron's son as a Brit amateur champion was correct.
I have a book somewhere "A History of Golf" by LTS and will try to find it and see whether
I can find out anything for you.

I had heard that the delay in BRM Vol 2 was due to Lord Lou & Court threats, so...
