Hi, all,
a friend of mine, who likes modelling cars for use in slot racing, is working on a 1/32nd scale model of the Lotus Europa.
Then, we're searching pictures of this model in any kind of racing. For all I know, this was a not very usual car on racing, but I think there were some exceptions...
Anyone?
Thanks in advance,
Carles

The 47GT was the GT version (group 3, later 4) of the Europa with a Ford twin-cam engine instead of the initial Renault 16 powerplant. It was used by the works team as well as many privateers, mostly British, in WSC and GT racing.
Much later (1978 IIRC), Harald Ertl created a group 5 version with a Zakspeed Ford turbo engine. Lack of funds prevented this theoretically unbeatable car of much success.

The roadgoing Europa Series 1 was the Lotus 46.
The racing version was the Lotus 47 - a total of 55 were built, so not that rare!
There was a later works-built Europa, the Lotus 62, which had a Vauxhall-based engine. Two were built, and these raced in the famous red and gold GLTL colours.

Pictures. First a correction: the 47GT was (somewhat misleadingly) homologated as a sportscar (50, later 25, per year had to be built, in contrast to a GT (500/year in those days).
So here's a 1967 protoype version, pending its homologation, entered by Lotus components:
A 1968 Sportscar version, GLTL works car:
The 1979 Ertl Zakspeed-engined group 5:

You're aware that poor Harald is no longer with us? It was his idea, I'm afraid...
