Silverstone... why they didn't let it in its classic layout? The new one is not bad, in fact it would be exciting on the paper, but somehow it doesn't tend to produce so great emotions as it theoretically would do... or it's just me?

Some great places: esses in Becket are a great layout, Copse is a classic, Stowe usually is the spot to overtake, and the exit over the "kerbs" (or lack of it) is nice, Bridge corner is good too. And it has one favourite thing for me: it's long

Everyone knows Silver really well, and even a blind monkey could drive a F2002 towards a win here, can Barry do this feat if his master fails?;)

I'm seriously thinking in giving double points for a JPM's win these days, just for bravery! :cat: ;)

But seriously, this is Ron Denis spiritual home, so I expect a show from Mac's boys... whatever it means

Now the rules... I promised myself don't be too long

----------------------------Warning! The Usual Boring Part Ahead! ---------------------------

It consists in guessing the three firsts in F1 races. You do an ordered guess (i.e. MS-JPM-RS) and a score is given according to real podium results. The scoring system is as explained here:

Suppose you do the guess MS-JPM-RS.

If MS is 1st, 3 points
if MS is 2nd, 2 points
if MS is 3rd, 1 point

If JPM is 1st, 2 points
if JPM is 2nd, 2 points
if JPM is 3rd, 1 point

If RS is 1st, 2nd or 3rd, 1 point

It another driver makes a podium position, it doesn't give any points.

The key for this system is not "gambling" on the exact position but to do a realistic shot at the relative merit of each driver in that GP. For instance, you are not penalized for JPM being first and not 2nd, as the penalty comes by not scoring with MS's first position.

In order to have a reference I will enter two "dummy" players: Bernie and Max (the names were chosen randomly ). Bernie always guesses the firsts three qualifyers, and Max always guesses the firsts three classified in WDC current points table. Can you outscore B&M?

Any guess can be done before one hour before the official first start of the race. We will use the "official" Atlas Forum clock to resolve close entries.

I remind you I am calculating a new secundary classification with average score to give an opportunity to no so constant players, that fail to guess from time to time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks everyone, and let's the fight go on! Estwald and gerry nassar can be beaten!... at least I dreamed about it last nigth :drunk: (I admit I drank a bit too much). And even if you are down the ranking if you are brave and succeed I'll do a nice homage/elegy about you!

Again, thanks for your participation in this little game, and I hope it is entertaining :)

See you later

fisi:

certainly you are not risking here, but if Ferrari's boys fail, you (and me) are going to pull your (my) hair!

I wish you good luck because: (1) you are a "classic" in this game and (2) I think I'll guess with Ferrari too :)

 (as SeanValen would say ;) )

My guess: MSCH - RB - JPM

MAX: MSCH - RSCH - JPM
BERNIE: JPM - RB - MSCH (Bernie is rare, isn't him?)

I remind you that "Sainz" Makarias gave me his guess weeks ago:
Makarias: MSCH - JPM - RSCH

And our resident Scotch LB wrote me:
LB: MSCH - JPM - DC (Aha! Scotland uber alles!;) )

Good luck for everyone... err... it isn't possible... well...
