I think the oldest driver, who got points in race was Luigi Fagioli. He was 53 years old, when he and Fangio won at Reims'51!!!!

Louis Chiron is the oldest driver, who participated in a Grand Prix. It was Monaco 1955. He was 56 years old!

Giuseppe Farina is the oldest "single" Winner. He won at the Nordschleife (German Grand Prix) in 1953. His age was 47 years!

I hope I'm right! :D

I think that Phillipe Etancelin just beats Fagioli as being the oldest driver to score Championship points. He was 53 years 8 months and a few days when he finished 5th in the 1950 Italian GP, scoring 2 points

Cantoni was also 56 (in 1952) but I'm not sure how his months and days compare with Chiron's

BTW, haven't we had this discussion before?

Cantoni was not 56 when he raced - he was 46. He was born in 1906 & died in the last few years. The 1896 date is wrong. Chiron is & always will be the oldest ever driver in a GP. Etancelin was the oldest points scorer, btw.

". . . is and always will be . . " Not so fast Richie - I'm still waiting for the call. On the other hand I'm still expecting any day now to be asked to step in at third base for the Cleveland Indians.

Sorry, Rich
I'm sure that point was made before - I was too lazy to look up the old thread
