Ian Fraser Jones

Fraser Jones started racing after the war but was best known for his successes at the wheel of a Porsche Spyder 550RS.
He told me that he "imported" the car directly from the factory.
It would appear that he had some "assistance" from the factory during his 1960 trip to Europe.
In 1960 he raced this car in Europe and he told me that he had the following results -
11 June : GP Adriatique, Yugoslavia - 1st
19 June : Circuito Di Caserta, Italy - fastest lap
Does anyone perhaps have some more detail on these events and the "quality" of the opposition?
If anyone has information about other racing events that Fraser Jones may have participated in while in Europe I would be pleased to know.
By the way, FJ took part in the 1954 Monte Carlo Rally sharing a Sunbeam Talbot 90 with Leslie Brooke. Would anyone be able to tell me the result they achieved?
Thanks
Rob

1. It appears that Fraser Jones acquired a Porsche RS60 for his races in Europe and did not take his 550 Spyder to Europe from South Africa.
2. I have also heard that he entered a race at the N'ring but crashed in practise.
3. There was also talk that he did a race in Scandanavia.
I would be interested to know if in fact he did acquire an RS60 and its subsequent fate and what race he entered at the 'Ring.
Any help would be much appreciated.

It was the 1000K race on May 22nd.
From DSJ's report in Motor Sport: South African driver Fraser-Jones should have been in this class [1151-1600cc sports] with his new RS60 but he crashed badly in unofficial practice...

Evidently Fraser Jones was not happy with the car and said (more or less) that it was not as good as his old 550 Spyder so he sold it to a Portugese driver. This driver evidently wrote it off soon after acquiring it.
Does anybody perhaps know if it is true that only 12 of the RS60 model were built?
2. After he sold the RS60 Fraser Jones acquired a magnificent Porsche Carrera Abarth (apparently one of only 10 built) which he brought to South Africa and raced sparingly.
He won the "2nd City of Lourenco Marques Trophy" (50 laps) with it and came home 4th in the sports/GT section of the 35 lap ATCM Trophy the same day.
The ATCM Trophy was rather unique, it was a "concurrent" race for open wheel cars like Cooper T43's, Cooper T51's, LDS etc as well as sportscars such as D Type Jag, Maserati 300S, Lotus 15 and even a very hot Alfa Ti !
3. Has anybody had any luck with the full results of the Preluk race that Fraser won?

according to the "Guide Porsche - Tous les modeles année par année" 14 RS60s were built by Wendler.
