I think i'll aim this to most of you who live in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

My parents are getting a satelite dish that gets chanels from various countries around the world plus a few US ones (but they dont show F1). What I want to know is the name(s) of the TV station(s) in your country that show F1 Qualifying and Race live. That way i can check and see if i'll finally be able to watch F1 LIVE!!!

Please just specify your country and the full name of the tv station. Thanks!!! :D

Over here I can see the the following:

RTL (German)
TF1 (French)
RB1 (Belgian) (not a 100% of the tv station name though)
RaiUno (Italian and encoded, but sound is good and the scrambled picture is still an alternative if all other stations take a commercial break.

BTW, I live in Luxembourg

Sweden, the channel is called TV4, (sends all european races live, american(North and Southamerican) races just 45 min summaries, Suzuka usually live, Australia and Malaysia the whole races but delayed). TV4 has a couple of 4-5 minutes commercial breaks in the races. TV4 sends some european qualifyings, around maybe 5-6 a year.

Good luck gerry!!

USA - Speed (Formerly Speedvision)shows live Friday practice (usually the second free practice, with highlights from the first session), Live Qualifying, and all races live except the few carried by ABC this year those races include: Monaco (shown tape delayed after the Indy 500), Canada (live) Monza (which will be tape delayed) and the USGP (live). Speed will re-broadcast those races the next week, and will carry practice and qualifying for those races live.

SE Asia, Star Sports, Qual & Race live with repeats during the week.

World Feed.. as bad as it usually is. Beware of the chinese commentators. I don't understand them and his ties are gaudy. Some other freq. should bring you the english commentators.. one of them is chris goodwin.

Swiss: SF1
TSI2

German: RTL
DSF (don't show actual live races but do practise sessions and highlights)

French: TF1

Austria: ORF1

Italy: Raiuno

Out of all of them I prefer the Austrian coverage. It's (obviously) neutral.
Raiuno is very biased, the Swiss coverage is biased and dull and the Germans
have too many adverts, although they're the most professional.

:rotfl: Yup. those Chinese commentators are nuts. Cris Goodwin is ok, but slater is really drunk everytime he does his commentary.

And you could see Dr. Evil during the pre-race and post race programs. :rotfl:

Romania

TVR 1 - usual feed live ( Race + Qualyfing )

Via satelite :

RTL - German station - usual feed live ( Warm up +Qualyfing + Race )
RaiUno or RaiDue - Italian station - usual feed live ( Warm up +Qualyfing + Race )
this one is encoded but the comentators are great and many padock info's

So how do i watch ?
Video at TVR1 on one TV
and the other rom TV is the audio coverage of RAI UNO

Why because the Romanian comentators suck , they seem to see another race !

Here in Finland the primary channel in F1 is MT3, which is comercially based private owned but public channel. It sends usually the second free practise in Friday taped at the evening, the second free practise in Saturday live and the qualifiacation and press-conference live. The warm-up will be sent live and from the actual GP there is usually three hours long program with interviews and a studiopart added to the actual race. The GP will be shown as re-live in the next morning.

The Canal Digital will also send live broadcasts here, and these sendings don't have advertisments, which is a bonus. In MTV3's F1 programs the advertisements can last up to four minutes in a row.

Gerry there's little chance you'll be able to pick up the channels mentioned above in Australia imo.

You have a high chance, though, to pick up Star Sports (India/Hong Kong version) as well as the Arabic ART network, which has ART Sports channel that has a vast F1 coverage.
