Schumacher changes Helmet Design and Set RB car up for Monaco

It seems that Michael Schumacher's
dedication to the Ferrari cause knows no
bounds. As most of the Formula 1 field are
relaxing on Friday, the German will be
kindly setting up his team-mate's spare
car, whilst sporting his new, scarlet red
helmet design.
Like last year, Michael Schumacher has
taken advantage of the day off to fly down
to the Fiorano test-track at Maranello, by helicopter. In the afternoon
he tests Ferrari's fourth F1-2000 chassis, number 200 with which he
won the early rounds of this season and which tomorrow becomes
Rubens Barrichello's spare car.
Despite the fact that the Brazilian was unable to find an adequate
set-up for the Monaco street circuit, it was Schumacher who offered to
carry out the extra work.
Importantly it will give the championship leader another chance to
make final modifications to the set-up in view of Saturday's one-hour
qualifying session, in which he is aiming for at least a front row
position.
"The pole is not so important at Montecarlo, but it is vital to get a
perfect start from the front row of the grid," said Schumacher, who is
not noted for rapid getaways. "As to whether I start from the right or
the left side, we'll see in qualifying."
Schumacher is also the latest in a long list of grand prix drivers to
change his helmet design.
"I've been looking for something new for some time," he said."I like this
new one but it certainly won't make me go any faster! There's a lot
more red on it quite simply because I'm in love with Ferrari!"

He's just done what Irvine did to keep the top brass happy at Jaguar.

Ferrari driver, Michael Schumacher, showed off his new modified
helmet at yesterdays practice sessions for the upcoming Monaco
Grand Prix. Apparently the German wanted something a little more
flashy than his previous design.
The stars that used to appear on the top of Schumacher's helmet
have now disappeared replaced with flashy neon red on the top and
just underneath the sponsoring rim. However, the black, red and
gold German flag symbols are still present.
Michael will be definitely hoping that this new design will bring him
more luck than the flashy chrome design that he wore in the
Japanese Grand Prix back in 1998.

Yeah, that makes so much sense, Bob, as the Tifosi have been so unhappy so far with their 'Maestro'.... I am glad he is changing it.... he and Rubens look too much alike.

Rubens may not be satisfied with his setup or whatever, but his problems yesterday had nothing to do with setup but with the engine. And what´s more important is that RB does not like MS´s way of balancing the car. SO, I tend to agree with the post above: MS is only making sure he has one more chassis to bang around in case he crashes his spare.

And the point of it all is, I think, that his and Rubens' helmets are virtually indistinguishable, especially when watching them upfront. At leas now, when we see blue in a red, it's Rubens and just red, its Michael.
Of course, of them two I think Rubens would be the one changing his helmet...

Especially at a race where he is concerned about starts

PS. I am glad it changed, so I can tell Rubens apart from michael. It was such a pain in the neck to follow the race with those similar designs.

Then what the hell are those shiny things on top?
BH,
I agree Schumy's 98 Suzuka helmet was cool.
