Welcome to MrA's Crashing League. Basically rather than score points based on finishing positions, it's going to be based on who crashes out of the race
Each driver will be worth different points, with a drivers value being adjusted after each round, depending on whether they crashed out or not. At the start of their career, each driver was worth 17pts, then adjusted after each round:
- Increase value by 2 if they did not crash out.
- Decrease value by half (& round down) if they did crashed out.
For each round, everybody can pick three drivers. If any of your drivers crashes out of the race then you score score points. If a driver you picked is involved in a crash, the points who will be awarded will the that drivers value. If one of your drivers is involved in a crash that leads to a safety car period you will be awarded one and a half times that drivers value. Or if your driver causes a red flag you will get double points. When picking your drivers consider whether to go for somebody with a high value or a driver worth less but more likely to crash out. If a race is restarted, a driver can be awarded for crashed in both halves! You will also score points awards for 10 second penalties and DQ's
Point Scoring:
- 1xDV if your driver crashes out
- 1.5xDV if your driver causes a safety car period
- 2xDV if your driver causes a red flag
- 3xDV if your driver is DSQ from the race for driver misconduct (ie a non-technical reason)
- 5pts if your driver earns a 10 second penalty
- 2.5pts if your driver earns a drivethrough penalt
(DV: Driver Value)
It's driver mistakes only, not mechanical faults. [Althought, I reserve the right to pick'n'choose as we go along ]
Now for a complicatred bit: In order to keep work down [I've got other t'ings to do] I'm going to write a quick program to automatically strip out entries from a page saved from the BB. This means that you entries will have to included a line as follows:
[[[Your name/Driver1/Driver2/Driver3]]]
sub'ing in as required. Drivers should be entered as the first four digits of their surname. ie Hakk, Vill, Salo, Fren. In the case of Schumacher's use RSch or MSch. [don't worry about case]
As an example, my entry is:
[[[MrA/Salo/Mont/Vill]]]
Hope you can follow that, if not you know where to get me or just pick the three drivers you think will crash and learn as we go along. Oh, and please use the same name as before!
Driver values for this round as above [number of left of (+2),(+0) or (/2) 'in Driver Data' table]
