[POLAR]

Question: why my hps start to drop even after i've changed the oil? Is it something related to mileage?

From what I've seen after buying a new car
- after running for a while engine "loosens up" and hp increases
- hp then peaks and starts dropping
- oil change increases hp to max again
- you can change oil a few times (3-4?) and boost hp to max.
- after a while the engine is "worn out" and you can no longer reach max bhp.

Throughout the championship etc I often heard people talk about this.

I have never had this happen to me. I have cars that I have driven for thousands of kms, heaps of oil changes, and the power has never dropped below it's maximum.

Maybe it's a PAL/NTSC difference?

Hi JForce!

I'm 100% certain of the points 2, 3, 4 as they're a bloddy pain during the championship.

I'm pretty sure about point 1, but haven't tried changing oil immediately for a while as previous (though slightly hazy by now) experimentation indicated that it was pointless.

I haven't had point 5 occur for a while but I remember it happening on the 2 first rounds of the championship when I was putting a lot of time into it.

I'm using the PAL version.

I find all this a massive pain in the ass I must say, especially point 5. If Polyphony want gt3 to be more realistic they should focus on banging walls and driving across grass.

Yupp, point 2, 3 and 4 is correct!

But point 5 is nearly correct also, as the car is older or have more mileage, the oil gets dirtier faster.
So you need to change oil more often than when the car is new, but you will always get the HP back to max when you change oil.

Tried it all already, but the hps keep decreasing in my heroic Mugen. Sooooooo weird.

I dunno, Chrissy Boy is most likely right but I was pretty sure that I couldn't get the max hp back after driving for a while... Maybe we're "blessed" with a different version?

Solved...i guess...The problem is, if you BUY the damn thing, them it wil decay to death in no or little time. I'm saying that because i have another NSX, the purple one, that has more milleage and still, seems unafected by that loss of power. The diference is that the Castrol on was bought, while the purple one was won. Maybe i'll be nominated for the next Nobel Award, at the GT3 Prize.

I still don't reckon that's correct.

None of my cars have ever suffered a loss in top power. It goes down, I change oil, and it ALWAYS goes back to the level it was. Whether I won it or bought it, and regardless of mileage.

Maybe I got a super-secret Pokemon version

Here is another important tip.
As soon as you get a car give it an oil change and you get an HP increase!

I'l have to give that Nobel Prize back. The hps are dropping in Ford GT 40 that i won. Thats not fair. Not fair at all.

Change the Oil Polar, i got 580hp now.

With the GT40 here's my experience :
- Changed oil and immediately got full power (580), so my first point was wrong. That said if you don't change the oil immediately the engine will "loosen up" until max power.
- Changed oil one more time and got full power back
- Changed oil for the 3rd time and power is now only at 577 bhp.
