The car for round 9 in the AtlasF1 GT3 Championship is
Posted Image
The Ford GT40 (you can get this car by winning the Gran Turismo All Stars(10 Rounds,Champ) in Amateur mode.)

And the track is
Posted Image
Apricot Hill Raceway 2

Here is a tip for all you who dont have this car yet!

Selecting series awards:
Series awards (i.e., cars) are not purely random. Press X when a silhouetted car has the large black circle flashing under it to cause that car to be selected as the award for winning the series. Timing is crucial, since the large black circle only appears under a car for less than half a second. If you are too slow, the next car to get the large black circle will be selected.
Information in this section was contributed by pj.

You can get unlimited F1 cars by playing endurance races, as you can win prize cars from those races unlimited times. To select a prize car, press X when the black circle is under the car of your choice.
Information in this section was contributed by cm555.

To get the series car of your choice, just race all the races in series mode, not single. Save before the last race. Do not exit the series -- use the save function shown after the race is done. Then, start and quit the last race. If you have enough points from previous races you should still win the series, then continue to where they award the series prize. If you get a car you do not want, just exit the game, go back to the title screen, then load. The game will start from the last race you saved at. Quit the last race then continue onto the series and repeat until you get the desired car.

I love the car! Great choice, my fellow voters!

Nice picture, Viktor. However it looks more like GT40 Race Car in GT3 (like colour, stripes etc.) and I thought we were supposed to race with the street version.

FIA, please clarify...

Its the Road Car (Named "GT40"). The site where I have got the pictures from on the old competitions have closed :(.

Please clarify - first of all, in GT3 A-spec I can only find the race car, no road car? And secondly, I have now tried to win the car in Gran Tourismo All Stars Championship, amateur mode. I can win the Toyota GT-ONE car, the Nissan Z Concept something, and two others. But there is NO GT40 among the 4 cars you can win. Sure this is how you win the car?

I can't buy the GT40 race car either - it has no price. So, any tips?

The GT40 is there :) Its the car on the right side of the 4 rotating cars.

You have selected the wrong championship, you have selected "Gran Turismo World Championship", the GT40 is in the "Grand Turismo All Stars" :)

Nice car. Less of a beast to control with "only" 580hp. I think the balance is pretty good right away (tuned with all available options and the only setup change the ASD tightened up). The brakes are lame though, takes some getting used to.

I'm trying to dial out the understeer, too much of that in this car for my taste.

I found that increasing the front camber by 2 points helped. Also I haven't increased downforce to the max as I would normally do as only rear downforce is available on the GT40 -- not yet sure how much difference this makes on front-rear grip balance yet though.

It does make a difference in high speed corners. Try lowest and highest settings respektevly and have fun!

Well my first concern was to get rid of the understeer -- in theory I think that increasing rear downforce without balancing front downforce increases understeer at least on fast corners. It tried setting the rear at max and then reducing it a bit and it seemed better at 75% ...

We already raced it - with the most awful car available. Maybe in the next season.

Play around with the LSD, downforce at medium and down, and stabilizer as stiff as it gets in the rear and offcourse NO TRACTION CONTROL.

You might even want to put a little toe out in the rear as well.

I just tried it and it turns beautifully. However, I could use some more of braking power...

I start with exactly 1'15.000.

And a question concerning the brakes: I cannot find any noticeable difference if I put high or low settings in the brake balance. Does it have any influence in braking power or does higher settings just strenghten the antilock effect?

LuckyStrike1: we did this circuit in the reverse direction in a previous round. One thing you may not know is that by cutting straight through the chicane after the right hander at the end of the long straight you can gain around a second. There may also be other places where cutting through the grass is faster, though I never quite figured it out last time.

Actually in my case it goes faster without cutting over the chicane (over sand), just cutt/slightly jump the kerbs.

That's really good news, I hate it when cutting through sand or bouncing off walls is faster. Any chance of an approximate time for the first split?

Me too, but what kind of changes it should do to the behaviour of the car if I completely turn it off for instance? I can't notice any difference...
