I thought I'd put this one to the floor.

Are there any racing games for the PS2 that would justify my buying one.

I've got all the F1 sims I could ever want on my PC. I liked the look of TOCA race car driver, but I've heard tell that the physics aren't up to much. Likewise, World Rally Championship looked very pretty, but is supposedly not as playable as CMR2 for the PS1.

Any opinions ?

The moment I finish my work (next week) I'm off to get Ferrari 355 which was just released on Thursday.

Yes GT3, I bought the PS2 just because of this game, I only have two games Toca Race Car Driver and GT3, and if F355 is any good I even get that one. PS2 is quite cheap now anyway.

And CMR 3, will come soon also. That's also a reason to buy a PS2

the reason i decided to go with a console is because i got tired of hearing about ppl with P4 1800Mhz with 196 Mb and 128Mb video card and still having problems with playing games in full detail and getting reduced frame rates :

I know that PS2 will never have the same quality, but i play for fun and not to be serious  its nice to be able to plug it in and go racing

I too went the ps2 route simply because I couldn't keep up with the hardware requirements/driver updates/patches/etc required of today's PC games.

I own and love GT3 and World Rally Championship (soon will be trading this for CMR3) I understand this new Ferrari 355 game is quite good as well. I recall numerous raves about the Dreamcast version of this game.

The only thing the ps2 is lacking at the moment is a quality Formula 1 game. F1-2002 was garbage IMO.
