I've had GP4 for about a month now and have experienced many problems. If you can asist please do so, I beg you ! My system is a Dell 4500, Pentium 4 2.0 ghz running 384 DDR Ram with the GeForce 4 64 MHZ video board. One of the problems is that after playing the game, the next time I try to open it the screen becomes black and stays that way. After a few minutes I will ctrl, alt, delete. and shut down GP4. When I look at the files it seems that I'm missing something and must re-install to get it working again. Second problem is whenever I set a fastest lap or the round of pitstops start a banner comes up showing for example "Michael Schumacher is in the pits" my computer drags bigtime and when the banner leaves everything resumes to normal speed. Not fun when this happens in a corner or chicane. I have e-mailed infogrames many times and they have never replied ! Is this how "Customer Support" works in England ? Also my OS is Windows XP. Once again if yo have a suggestion please reply. Thanks in Advance, Rob O "Forza Minardi"

You should probably ask the forumers in the Racing Simulator forum http://www.atlasf1.c...hp?s=&forumid=7
They know a thing or two about these kind of problems!

I had the same problem as you ,alothough my system is different to yours.
I had a warez version though.
Try getting the latest video drivers for your car.

If you're running Kazaa, that might be what is causing these lag problems - the game will slow down severely for 10 seconds or so and resume, and it does this every minute or so for me, so close down Kazaa before doing any heavy graphics related gaming
Also, make sure you have the latest video drivers from nvidia

The sky text messages cause slow down on many systems - you are not alone! This is something that may hopefully be fixed when the patch comes out.
The other problem is also a bug. For some reason the f1gstate.sav file becomes corrupted sometimes when you exit the game. Delete the f1gstate.sav file & the game will run (but you loose your settings!). The best thing is to turn off the check box for saving the settings when you exit and the problem should go away. This is something else that the patch should address.
