Since 1961 there were always two big sportscar race at Mosport. One in June called Player's 200 Mosport and later in the year Grand Prix at Mosport. In 1966 the GP became Can-Am race and Player's race was probably dropped after 1967 as a sportscar race only to re-appear in 1976 for a single World Sports Car Championship race at Mosport. In 1968 I have no record of such race at Mosport and since 1969 the Can-Am race was moved to June.

Can-Am results are generally known but what I would need are results of non-championship races at Mosport 1961-1967 for Player's 200 and 1961-1965 for Grand Prix. I post here my current information and hope somebody could fill gaps expecially grids, full results, race numbers and/or heat results, retirement or so.

David, thank you.
I agree your drivers changes except I think in 1966 it was Earl Jones (USA), not Parnelli because I have seen E. Jones. For the rest I had no first names but I they all seems OK.

I would be happy if you find some more in your records.

Positively thrilled to see all these names showing up in the results tables for these events after 40+ years, chaps. Ah, nostalgia. I attended each of the above and have fond but faint memories. Thanx loads.

Adding a little bit more to the Canadian Grand Prix 22/9/62, from R&T Dec. '62.

Bonnier (car #1) completed 98 laps, Holbert 97, Hurt 95, Donner 91 and Dietrich 90.

Gurney' s pole time was a new record at 1:32.0 (93.9 mph) and he set a new record during the race at 1:31.5 (94.4 mph) on lap 47. He retired on lap 90 with gear linkage problems.

Other drivers and cars mentioned are:

John Cannon (CDN) Dailu Bardahl Special (an older front-engined Sadler) with a 368 cu. in. Chev.
Cannon led the first lap and pitted with mechanical problems while still leading (on total time) on lap 19, returned to the track and finished 15th.
Bill Bradshaw (IRL) in a Lotus 23, car #5.
Innes Ireland (GB) Lotus 19, 2.5 Climax. DNF gearbox/shifter problem.
Roger Penske (US) Telar Cooper, 2.7 Climax, car #6. DNF at 19 laps with an oil leak.
Al Pease (CDN) Lotus 23
Harry Entwhistle (CDN) Lotus XV. DNF accident.
Ross de St. Croix (CDN) Lola. DNF accident.

Gregory, starting near the back of the field, was given a one-minute penalty for pulling off the grid and zipping up the pit lane and onto the track when the green flag dropped. He lead from the second lap, on the track, but not on time, until later in the race (he had lapped everyone else by 50 laps).

Jim Hall retired with a holed piston.
Stirling Moss was the flagman.
The race orginized by the British Empire Motor Club.

Being a racehead for only a few years now, I can only admire everything that has happened in Bowmanville in the golden era of motorsports. Thanks for making a slice of history available!

Pepsi-Cola Canadian Grand Prix 28/9/1963, from R&T Dec. '63.

Trivia:
100 laps, organized by the BEMC (Toronto), $8000 prize money, 24,000 paid spectators. 30 starters, 17 finished the race.

Some contradictions to Martin's data:
Surtees' Ferrari was a factory entry, not NART. He lasted longer than 3 laps. He set fastest race lap (1:34.30) on his 27th. Pitted with an overheating problem on lap 29. Came back for a few laps before retiring.
Bandini drove a NART Ferrari 2.6L V8, not a Cobra. Also Bandini wrecked after losing a wheel in the race. I think 6th place in the results should go to Weitzes' Cobra.
Gardner drove a Brabham 1500, not a Ferrari 250P.
Al Pease drove a Lotus 23, not a Brabham.

Starting grid:
!st Surtees 1:33.5 (95 mph)
2nd Rodriguez 1:34.2
3rd Hill 1:36.6, car #1
4th Wuesthoff, car #44
5th Peter Lerch (CDN), Dailu Special
6th Harry Heuer (US),Meister Brauser Chaparral #23 (ran 2nd in the race then lost 30+ laps with a broken axle)
7th Dennis Coad (CDN) Lotus 19-2.5 Climax
8th Bandini

Other starters were:
Grant Clark (CDN), Piper, Gammino (car #23) and Grossman in Ferrari GTOs.
Don Devine (US), Scarab (protested result, claimed 98 laps and 3rd place, do not know verdict).
Bob Johnson (US) Cobra, DNF lost wheel.
Herb Swan (US) Porsche RS61. Finished in the top ten.
Joe Buzzetta (US) Porsche RS61. DNF engine.
Ken Miles (US) Shelby Team Cobra #50, entered by Comstock and painted in their colours. Finished behind Weitzes in &th, I think.
Eppie Weitzes (CDN) Comstock Cobra.
Wayne Kelly (CDN) Porsche Special.
Ludwig Heimrath (CDN) Porsche RS61. Finished 12th.
? Moore, Stingray.

Re: Player's 200 1/6/63
I should add that during the second heat Ruby led the first 29 laps until he had a transmission failure and Barber was still ahead of Clark when he hit oil and spun out of the race on lap 35.

Thank you for corrections at GP 1963. I was probably one line wrong when wrote those data. Just note that in my data Surtees was not with 3 laps but third on grid, which is not correct too. I have also note that he led when retired, which probably should be read as when pitted.
I think that ? Moore, Stingray is Jack Moore.
Also if Cobras were 6th and 7th that implies that Swan was 8th or 9th but doesn't help much either.

Player's 200 1963, I agree Surtees wasn't there and also Ferrari Dino 268SP is probably wrong (should be in another Mosport race).

A couple of question to Players 200 1963:
1) Was Parnelli Jones present or rather DNA?
2) Did run all listed cars (except Parnelli Jones), or some of them could have been DNA (Did not arrive).
