The championship is over and the champions is...
  ozf1

After 10 hard rounds the difference between ozf1 and Chrissy Boy was just 6 points, 180 for ozf1 and 174 for Chrissy Boy. The last place on the podium was taken by JDeRosa who finnished on 117 points.

Full results from round 10 can be found here, full championship results here.

I have got most of the awnsers from my PM and I can already say that it will be a winter series, but we will have to wait. Expect a announcement in mid November in this forum.

So ... do we have a silly season now where people get fired by teams, get hired by new ones and we have a lot of sillly rumours about anything and anyone?

Hopefully I can challenge next time if certain rules are changed regarding the horsepower.

Good racing Ozf1.

Max Mosley here: I have some suggestions to make this series more intresting:

- to achieve closer racing there should be additional weightsin ozf1's and ChrissyBoy's cars...

- same guys should be relocated randomly in different teams every round...

I like TT6's idea :rotfl:

Anyway, great championship and congrats to ozf1 and chrissy!! I often wondered how the hell it was possible for you guys to post such incredible times.
Team Opposite Lock originally began as the only 'wheel' team, but I soon dumped the wheel for the dual shock. Thanks to HardRock and Jerry Lee - we were a pretty good team.

so...I'm off for winter testing ;)

Thanks guys,

I’ll accept the Championship win but I think we all know the best man didn’t win this competition. That accolade goes to Chrissy Boy, he was just that bit too good in most of the rounds  but missing the first round was a bit too tough for him to make up the difference. Anyway Its been good fun and a real challenge to try and keep up with him and to keep in front of some of you of you other guys. Well done to everyone who competed. The main reason it was worthwhile doing was because of the number of people who turned up to have a go.

Victor, I must say you’ve done a top job since taking over from JForce. You can tell that you’ve put a lot of effort in to it.

Also thanks to JForce for starting it up and the effort put in when time was obviously a bit of a problem for him.

I think I should go and talk to my manager now about the possibility of an F1 test with Ferrari. Surely beating Schuey cant be that much harder than beating Chrissy Boy (albeit with an extra round). :)

I finished 10th overall tie with TT6
I still have the same sugestion and it is to race in license mode so nobody can cut the circuit.
That way we will know for sure who is fastest and not who is better banging the wall.
Also we all have the same set up an not those funny cars with over 900 hp that are totally
unrealistic. that's my opinion. I would love to do a cahmpionship in license mode .
See ya all around.

I take this chanse to talk about this :)
I know that many want to run in license mode, the only problem that I have with it is that I dont know if it is the same cars (same power etc) in the Jap, American and Euro version of the game. I have checked the times and the Euro version have gold times 1-2 sec lower then the American version, I dont know if this is because we are better drivers or because we have more HP. I have no problem in running in license mode, you deside :)

Like you see, I occasionally bang some walls and it's still tie 10th, so it's not a faster way...

In license mode there's no set up options, and setting the beasts up is both entertaining and educational. Bad set up is also a valid excuse which may be convenient sometimes. Speculation is the essence of motorsports (and in simulated motorsports especially).

I think this is fun enough this way - in some ways more fun - so I don't really love the idea of running the championship in license mode. However - if necessary - I'm willing to compromise in a way that some of the races would be raced in license mode.

Variety of different cars suits me well, althou there was one limbo in the last season (the freaking 4wd 1000 hp Japanese stupid understeering shitbox   ) . Still I'm not after realism, I'm after good fun.

Races in License mode: i'll quit.
Full races only: I'll quit.
The current formula is perfect, dont change a thing. (please)

I'll race in any mode, but I beg, no, I plead. PLEASE PUT HORSEPOWER RESTRICTIONS ON! I don't think we should ever use a car that has more then 500 HP horsepower. or do something like no Turbo, Intercooler or N/A upgrades.

I'm not totally against a HP limit. The 900+ horsepower cars are just brutal to drive, not fun.

In regard to the license mode races: Pretty please no no no. I wanna be able to go off the circuit and get back on it, without banging walls, and still set a time. Not having the PS2 ending my try. I don't think eventual wallbanging it's a problem. It seems all of us don't like us, so we probably all try to avoid it as much as we can. Given ozf1 and Crissy Boys comments from some rounds, they don't do much wallbanging if any at all and they are the fastest. It's clearly more important with the right set-up.

Full races: I want more of those. I loved the last round, to set a total time over several laps. I don't really like hot laps. It's just going for one fast lap. Full races gives you the chance to play around more with tyre choice, pit strategy and go through traffic more. Plus, you can still be competetitive even if you don't have the single fastest lap time but are very even over several laps. I like that. I also like the fact that you can mess up one lap and compensate for that over the next few laps and still set a good time.

Well I thought the way it was run was perfect... Hot lap races and an edurance now and then...

But I like to push the car to it's limits and in doing so I occasionally go off the track... So I'm not for the License races because as soon as u get off the track u fail... And doing mods to the car is all part of the fun... Driving with stock cars feels like ur sunday driver...

Yep, that would be my formula too. Agree with above comments about the set-up being the important thing. Especially in the race rounds, I learned a hell of a lot and finished in positions I would not have thought possible to begin with. Besides the last Monaco license took me far too long to complete, and I've been very happy not to go near the license centre ever since, thank you very much! :)

I'm OK with the idea of a HP limit, but it's going to be reliant on honesty, one can't tell from a screenshot what's gone on under the bonnet. Then again we weren't able to prove that OzF1 and Chrissy boy were running nuclear-cored engines this year so... ;)
